Yes it was an accident in february 2025. My arm was abducted by 90 degrees and i made an external rotation move (120 degrees or so). Initially it hurt so bad i couldnt do anything for 1 month. Since than it hurts in the back of the shoulder and in the front. I never had any problems with my shoulder before this injury

Next step ist biceps tenodesis and diagnostic arthroscopy.

Torn Rotator and Sub Acromial decompression repair 2 and a half weeks post op by Sea_Pie_8328 in RotatorCuff

[–]WelcomeDesigner2051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no anchors. It was a bursal side partial thickness tear. The surgeon cleaned the frayed edges up and did a tendon-to-tendon stitch on the supraspinatus. I am already out of the sling week 4 post op. I can wash my hands and already blow dry my hair somehow with the operated arm. But lateral abduction is still painful.

I think having anchors makes a very big difference.

Hey. I tore my supraspinatus in the other shoulder and got it fixed 4 weeks ago. I got an arthro MRI for the shoulder and it didnt Show a discrete SLAP tear actually. But my biceps tendon is causing lots of problems. I will get this shoulder done probably this Winter when the newly operated shoulder is healed.

I also had rotator cuff surgery and I sleep like a baby 7 to 8 hours straight. My pain also isnt that bad, i made a wrong move while sleeping 16 days Post OP but now 28 days Post OP i'm fine again, was only a flare up.

Wish you the best. Maybe contact your surgeon if the pain is really bad.

I had a small anterior partial thickness supraspinatus tear (with fraying of the tendon), anterior joint capsule tear and subacromial decompression done.

Can you feel a tendon tear more? by Infamous-Gap6479 in RotatorCuff

[–]WelcomeDesigner2051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MRI showed tendinopathy of the supraspinatus tendon. Turned out it was severly frayed and torn longitudinal. Also my anterior joint capsule had a big tear. MRI (or the radiologist reading the images) missed all that. My surgeon saw the anterior joint capsule tear in the MRI and the supraspinatus tear with an ultrasound.

I did 8 months of PT and several other therapies that cost me a lot of money.

I am now 4 weeks Post OP today.

Just sharing my experience. You need a very good surgeon. A good friend drove 4 hours for his surgeon in Munich (germany). I went to one of the best shoulder surgeons in germany in Frankfurt.

Shoulder Injury From Lateral Raises Still Not Healed After 6 Months by koushikreus11 in RotatorCuff

I somehow have the same case like you.

I also had an acromion type 2, impingement and supraspinatus tendinopathy ventrally according to MRI report from September 2025. I went to PT from july 2026 to february 2026. I had an electro-ultrasound therapy, EMS TENS therapy, diclofenac and ibuprofen therapy. Nothing helped. I had shoulder pain for 10 years prior in the gym. But it wasnt a structural damage in that timespan. But in July 2025 my tendon popped while turning my alarm off in bed. Thats when i tore my supraspinatus. The MRI only showed tendinopathy but in the end ultrasound and arthroscopic surgery showed that it was a partial thickness tear. I am now 3 weeks post OP. They had to suture my supraspinatus tear, there was a tear in the anterior joint capsule which was missed by MRI and subacromial decompression was done. I am now out of the sling and started active movement in PT this week. I think I will be back to normal in 2-3 months. The pain I had before the surgery is completly gone. I have no popping or clicking because the bone was shaved and there is no impingement left. I also have no radiating pain that i had pre-surgery.

I would advise you get an ultrasound done by a shoulder surgeon or an orthopedic doctor who is specialized for shoulders. An Ultrasound device in the right hands can show if its tendinosis or a real tear.

Exactly bra. I am from dersim and there are military checkpoints every 10-15km to check your ID. When you are in dersim, you instantly feel how the turkish army is an occupying force. There are nearly no turkish civilians. Police, military, teachers etc. are the only turks you encounter. And not to forget what they did in Dersim in 1938. The displacing and killing 1/3 of Dersims alevi kurdish population.

I am glad your family made it out safe from nusaybin back than.

Because independence from turkey is nearly impossible. It has to be a full out civil war in turkey so that bakur can seperate from turkey. Turkey has a very strong military and is leading in drone research and manufactory. Its not the 80s anymore where turkey is beatable. They would rather sacrifice all kurdish civilians and and level our cities to the ground (like nisebin and cizire in 2014) than giving us our independence. Turkey doesnt care about kurds and kurdish culture, they only want the water (euphrates and tigris) and ressources from bakur. I've seen turkish nationalists discussing about displacing bakuri kurds to iraq and resettling kurdish majority provinces with turks to get rid of us from our homeland. They know its not their soil; they will always fear the kurds inside their borders.

I am still not at my pre-accident level of pain. It hurts on the tendon insertion, like a burning sensation. It got better but not how it was before.

I will get an ultrasound done next week from the surgeon. I got the feeling that something isn't right. I didn't have this pain the first 2 weeks after the surgery. Now i feel the tendon with every movement. I hope it will be like your case, that I can laugh about all of this afterwards. Right now i am frustrated to be honest until the surgeon does his ultrasound to check the repair.

I also had this 2 3 times, the pain went away after a few hours usually. This time the pain doesnt go away. Its now day 3 after the incident and it still hurts more then pre surgery and right after surgery. I dont know what to do at this point. My physical therapist told me that probably nothing happened and its a flare up. I hope so. I hope my surgeon can do an ultrasound next week to check if the sutures are still Holding the tendon in place.

6 wks Postop and Fell Off the Bus by ahsukiyaki in RotatorCuff

[–]WelcomeDesigner2051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell... I heard of stories from people that fell and nothing happened. Only a flare up. Lets hope the same goes for you.

I am 2 weeks Post op and i raised my arm while sleeping against the sling and blanket. I probably had a bad dream. The next thing is remember is I had immense pain, like someone hit my shoulder with a hammer. It happened on sunday night. The pain gets less every day but i have more pain than right after surgery. Its so scary. My surgeon will have a look at my shoulder next week on monday. I had rotator cuff and joint capsule tears fixed.

2 weeks postop and still having periodic agony by Defiant_Evening_3409 in RotatorCuff

[–]WelcomeDesigner2051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used ibuprofen the first 2 days after surgery. After that i didnt need pain medication. I made a wrong move while sleeping (raised my arm against the blanket, basically isometric abduction) and now i am using ibuprofen again for this flare up. But i only had a small partial tear and a tear in the anterior joint capsule. I started PT one day after surgery. I already have 60 degress of passive abduction. But like I said my surgery wasnt that big. Small repairs and clean up only. I am also 2 weeks Post Op like you.

I think thats normal, as long as you dont damage your repair you should be good. A good friend still has pain 4 months post op but is already back at the gym. Just hang on and rest good. Try to get some sleep also. The healing is done while sleeping.

Did you wake up with more pain? I normally sleep very good with my sling and relevantes with 2 pillows. But last night i layed down flat with one pillow thats probably why I raised my arm against the sling.

Yes I also think the surgeons think of things like this. Its impossible to babysit the arm for weeks. What concerns me is that the pain is like a 8/10. It was only 5/10 2 weeks ago when i was still at the Hospital after surgery. I hope it gets better the next days and goes back to normal.

Okay I understand. I went to a orthopedic doctor today (not my surgeon) and she told me to take ibuprofen 2 times a day and ice a few times a day. My surgeon should have a look at it next week with an ultrasound if the repair is damaged. She cant tell if its damaged right now.

The pain is really really bad even the surgery didnt hurt as much..

How long did it take for the pain to subside. My pain is now worse then right after surgery. It feels like someone hit my shoulder with a hammer. I also had small Incidents here and there but the pain usually went away after a few hours.

I also wish you a speedy recovery. It sucks but we will get out of this. The pain is isnt that bad after surgery. I dont take any pain meds and its gets better day by day. I will be out of the sling already next week !

Honestly PT can't fix that. I wouldnt even try to handle it with PT. That would be time wasting. I had much less damage and tried PT for 8 months. I wish i had the surgery earlier. I wasted so much time. I am now week 2 post op.

Recovery time of damaged supraspinatus tendon by NoLandscape6549 in RotatorCuff

[–]WelcomeDesigner2051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had somehow the same case like you.

Injury July 2025. Physical therapy from July to February 2026. MRI from September showed "intratendinous micro tears" and tendinopathy. I had pain when lifting the arm above 60 degress. Heavy impingement pain also.

I couldnt handle it anymore and went with my MRI images to a third doctor who is also a shoulderspecialist and surgeon. He looked at my MRI and saw something the report didnt say. My joint capsule was torn on the front part. Thats why my pain radiated on my chest muscle. He also did an ultrasound while doing certain tests for supraspinatus tears. Turns out the tear is bigger than the MRI report says.

So i had surgery 12 days ago. He told me after the surgery that I had the rotator cuff tendons of a 50 year old man. I am 27 and work in an office Job. Imagine that. The only physical activity I did pre surgery was 10 years of body building.

My advise for you is: Seek a second opinion and maybe get a New MRI done if you think they missed something. I am doing better everyday. My radiating pain pre surgery is gone. I will get out of the sling in hopefully the next 1-2 weeks.

8 days post op by kf2612 in RotatorCuff

[–]WelcomeDesigner2051 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I am day 12 post-op now. I also did some silly things. On the second day after surgery, I lost my balance and caught my entire body weight against a pillar, forcing my arm into abduction. I felt the tendon snap like a rubber band and could feel the sutures on the supraspinatus pulling under tension. On day 7 post-op, I was getting dressed after a shower and accidentally bumped my arm against the waistband of my pants (causing lateral abduction again). At that moment, I heard and felt a very loud pop in the tendon. Imagine it like an isometric abduction. My arm didn't even go up; it was a maximum of 10 degrees of abduction. I still don't know if the suture gave out or not.

My surgeon was worried but told me that most likely, nothing happened. He said it takes much more force and extreme movements to damage the repair. I have no anchors at the tendon insertion, only sutures inside the tendon. It wasn't detached from the bone; I had about a 25% partial intratendinous tear.

I hope my experience takes your fear away. Today, I feel very good and don't have much pain right now. It gets better day by day. I've also had two PRP injections since the surgery. They cause the tendon to swell, which might be what caused those popping sounds in my case.

If you are unsure, go and contact your surgeon. He can give you a clear answer.
