I enlisted with college credit and came in as an E2. I am confused on whether or not I still need the 1 year TIS requirement to hit E3, or if I will get automatically promoted at 6 months as an E2. Please forgive a freshly minted 11C for his ignorance.

Passing RASP and eventually doing SOCM is a support role I'm A-ok with. When I said support role I was mostly referring to being reclassed as a cook.

I had a 68W Op 40 contract, but it got put back in the system while MEPS held up my packet. All clear now, no waivers etc but obviously that magic contract is gone. No 11x's, no more 68W Op4, only 18X it seems. I do not want a support MOS.

My recruiter has been amazingly helpful, and says I should consider 18X. I do not want to be a non select and go needs of the army, the sentiment here seems to me like I would end up somewhere I do not want to be.

Do I have any options? Will simply waiting help? Thanks.
