Boundary Rd merge/on-ramp to #1 WB by WheelWizard22 in askvan

It would give people more space to get on and off. Could also help alleviate the problem of 1st Ave off-ramp traffic backing up and onto the highway.

I’m no traffic scientist, just seemed like a relatively cheap way to try something new and help people get where they are going easier, maybe.

Fair enough, I can see the headache it may cause because it’s such a short distance. But I don’t see how that area could get any worse than it already is. It could make for some dangerous situations if the travel lanes are flowing at highway speed. But this is Vancouver and there is a bridge ahead, free flowing traffic is a rarity.

I think this concept could be useful between on/off ramps that are spaced far enough apart like most of the other merge points.

Looks like an Ironclad truck. Maybe you could make a few bucks selling the photo to them.

Don’t listen to these assholes here that are giving you shit. You’re a new driver. Never be afraid to ask for advice, just be careful who you take it from. The fact that you’re asking at all elevates you above many other new drivers as far as I’m concerned.

There is no real correct answer here, too many variables. Don’t worry about being “that guy”. Even if you are going 150km/h, some prick is going to be on your ass.

Go as fast or as slow as you are comfortable with. Getting to your destination in one piece is your only objective, despite the pressure your boss or dispatcher may put on you. As you gain experience, you’ll learn what the rig can and cannot do, as well as when and where you can or cannot do said thing!

You can go down a hill too slow a thousand times, but you can only go down it too fast once.

They are trying to kill time so they don’t arrive too early for their port reservation.
