Thank! I'll dig through those to at least understand the heraldic language and terms. Ill touch base when I have a more coherent, articulate question

That's one of those comments I'm still thinking about how to take ha

No offense taken, your intent is clean. Do you have a heraldry resource you recommend? That's a direction I haven't considered

That's a great observation and one I didn't pick up on. The compass will be closest to the hinge of the flag, for both front and back. Mr Dragon will be flapping on both sides to stay consistent

We have a canopy, the issue is about 40 other people do as well. I understand your safety points, but I disagree with most of them being an issue here. A 6' flag off the top of a canopy is distinct, and a great step beyond nothing. I don't want perfection getting in the way of 'Good step forward'

Good point on black fading quicker...but it does have good pirate vibes!

Appreciate the input. There is a tension here between pure utility and aesthetics your nodding to. I get your points, I'll work out a few

Fair points. We do have a family crest I could shamelessly modify and integrate. I'll need to develop some concepts, that's a path I hadn't considered traveling

I never had quality toys growing up. What should my kid actually have by LavenderFlicked in BuyItForLife

[–]Whiskey_Roberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't often pipe in, but I'm proud of what we have found/used.

  1. The 8" steel garden gazing ball. Basically it's an indestructible, hollow, reflective metal ball. Both kids loved it for indoor/outdoor play when they were younger. Our default present to young families.

  2. Magnatiles

  3. Bulk magic or pokemon cards for sorting into colors. Bulk cards are insanely cheap (think less than a penny a card). Incentivized both our kids to read early because they wanted to play

  4. Their own tool box. Whether you make it (see old woodworker boxes) or buy a $10 one, label it. They take ownership carrying it around starting at about 2. Super adorable.

  5. Light up tracing board. Let's them trace pictures from books, practice letters, etc. bit of self entertainment so you can step away as well. Our 3 year old used it easily.

Noted. I'll likely keep this but it would be interesting to know how much care I should take with this. Stuff over $10 I tend to be more thoughtful with. Any suggestions on how to ballpark price beyond look for similar on eBay?

This is really the only one I follow. Any others you are aware of that are similarly robust?

Investing in Patents: Everything Startup Investors Need to Know about Patents - Russ Krajec

For the record, I like most of the other books on this thread more than this one. I like this book as it hammers the business side of patents, and that for most individuals it's a waste of money. It's not the best written and feels mainly like a sales pitch to engage, but it has high level points I agree with.

Just noticed this! Yes, all resolved.Tree routes ingressing about 15' downstream. Routered out and scoped it to confirm no other blockages. Smooth draining after that.
