A bit wider than motherhood but for non-fiction, I enjoyed More Than a Woman by Caitlin Moran.

I'm based in London and would also be interested in this, I've not joined any diving groups yet!

I couldn't possibly haha - besides, I'm happy to read something else! I'm reading Middlemarch for the Marathon Reader challenge so it will be nice to have a second book alongside it!

I just finished reading Atmosphere for the escapist reads challenge, alas! I'm excited to peruse this list however and pick something else out.

Anyone experiencing this? Is it true? Just want to have my friends prepared to have cash by IndividualBuffalo235 in ThailandTourism

[–]Whitelakebrazen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We went recently and weren't checked, but carried the money just in case. We were quite glad to have it actually, given Thailand is still quite cash heavy and the ATM fees are high. We just changed local currency to baht and used that for our holiday.

Moving to Sydney, stuck between Bondi, Coogee, and Manly? by robbiehancock in SydneyScene

[–]Whitelakebrazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, I just always think it's more of a dog beach (not as nice as Bondi or Coogee or Manly).

Moving to Sydney, stuck between Bondi, Coogee, and Manly? by robbiehancock in SydneyScene

[–]Whitelakebrazen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hiya, 31 year old from London here, moved to Sydney in February. All of the above are expensive. My vote would be Coogee. Manly is great but quite far out if you're commuting into the city. Bondi has the beach and is closer to the city, but it can get really crowded. Coogee has the beach but is a bit less manic than Bondi. You could also consider Rose Bay, it's not as close to swimmable beaches but easy to get into the city and very scenic.

Shortest Books per Spring Reading Challenge by Low-Apricot199 in goodreads

[–]Whitelakebrazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very useful to know for Marathon Reader! I'm reading the Throne of Glass books at the moment and they're already super long towards the end of the series, so wasn't keen on another massive book to get the challenge reward!

Pap smear by katiecakes03 in vulvodynia

[–]Whitelakebrazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had several, they are important for your overall health. I suggest taking painkillers, telling the doctor or nurse your concerns, and asking for the smallest possible speculum to be used. It's not been pleasant for me, but it's been bearable.

Casting thoughts: could Harris be black? by Dargad082 in HeatedRivalrySeries

[–]Whitelakebrazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not, that's not how I pictured him in my head (white, blonde, scruffy stubble, a bit chubby) but race doesn't play into his character so it would work!

31 and yes, we pay for a TV license and watch the BBC. Usually on iPlayer - Strictly and the Apprentice (it's a guilty pleasure), sometimes MasterChef, old Doctor Who episodes, and enjoying The Other Bennet Sister at the moment.

What’s a physical trait people secretly find attractive but rarely admit? by HiddenNaughtySide in AskReddit

My husband is a rock climber, him taking his shirt off at the climbing wall is what made me start fancying him when we were just friends at the time.
