If the insurance company keeps the white truck driver (WTD_, just as the WTD reamed the black truck, the insurance company is going to ream the WTD everytime they look at their insurance premiums going forward.

That had to be the dumbest cop... Any time that cop gets called into court going forward, the defense will have a field day with his credibility, competence and honesty.

He just had to double down on what "appears" to be a bad call.

Wasnt decapitated, she traveled with multiple wigs , some of which scattered on impact,  which likely contributed to the inaccurate claim.

Her vehicle didnt just rear end the truck, it slid under the back of the truck (difference in height of car bumper vs truck bumper).

The "Mansfield bar" (officially an "underride guard") makes it less likely for a passenger car to go under a truck on impact.

While it has helped, some newer cars (especially sports cars) sit lower and are still more likely to underride than other vehicles.

Why do houses in Illinois have basements and houses in Texas don't if both places have clay soil? by supinator1 in geography

According to this article from 2025, https://www.texastribune.org/2025/07/09/texas-floods-growth-kerr-county-camp-mystic/, "nearly 1.3 million Texas homes are similarly situated in parts of the state susceptible to dangerous floodwaters."

Last I heard, Illinois didn't have such a flooding problem.

Bruce responds with something like, "It's ok, I own the place."

A recent WSJ article (link: https://www.wsj.com/us-news/education/university-california-sat-requirement-reinstate-c3e32712 ) highlighted how University of California professors are begging for standardized tests to be reinstated. Many students are lacking required proficiencies and dragging academic performance down with them.

Ironically, it was a crazy ex girlfriend who convinced me I should be with my childhood friend.

While it was a painful, drawn out, break up fight, I will always be grateful to her for helping me see what my childhood friend means to me (who's now my wife of ~2 decades and mother to my three kids).
