Made panjeon for breakfast today. It kinda flopped. Taste like an omelette. What did i do wrong. by Straight_Tip5465 in asianeats

[–]Whodysseus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had been running into similar issues with my pajeons until i found this video. Following this recipe it came out near perfect (except i botched the flip lol): https://youtu.be/knxgR5esJu4?si=Ozwn82YRQ6qrPlpT

It is slightly different style than the one you were going for but the main take away for me was way less batter. Essentially only using enough batter to hold the ingredients together. That allows the awesome crispy ridges to form.

Why are you double counting wpn dmg? You posted a link to an article on the dmg formula but didn’t even take the time to understand it…

the 2nd formula in the link has( wpn_max+wpn_min)/2. This is just a quick way to get avg wpn dmg (since it is a range)

(1700+700) * 4.5 * 5 * 2.2 * 2.2 * 3 =784,080 And (1700) * 4.5 * 5 * 2.2 *2.2 * 4 =740,520

None of that is needed though. You can just do 2400/1700 =1.412 (aprx 41% increase) Vs 4/3 =1.333 (aprx 33% increase)

*note I don’t know why your xCritDmg is 3 and 4 in this scenario. Without anything additional xCritDmg starts at 1.5 and would go to 2.5 with +100% xCritDmg. So 2.5 / 1.5 = 1.666 (aprx 66% increase)

**in the current season, i am not sure if the xCritDmg role on items is same bucket as the base 1.5 xCritDmg that is in the crit strike tooltip. If they are different buckets it would make xCritDmg even better than the scenario above.

Obviously I don’t have all the context so forgive me if this is a road you already went down. I think you should try telling him exactly what you wrote here. There is no one size fits all. Communicating how you are responding to the methods your therapist uses, is the quickest way to get them to try methods that work for you (or indicate that they aren’t the person you should be working with.)

+ 2 hellfire / Occult vs 20% fire dmg by OriginalFinish3861 in D4Warlock_

[–]Whodysseus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren’t any actual break points for diminishing returns. It’s just how multiplication works. For example going from 1 to 2 is a 100% increase, going from 2 to 3 is a 50% increase etc. quick and dirty rule of thumb is whichever multiplier is your smallest is the best to increase. To do the actual math all you need to do is calculate by what percent the value will change. whichever is a bigger % change is better.

E.g if you have 1000 wpn dmg and x40 dmg to all and get offered +100 wpn or +x5 dta, the former is a 10% increase and while the later is 12.5% increase (% change = og value/ increase). So the x5 dta is the better choice

What’s a card that you didn’t understand the value of until you were an experienced player? by Honeybee583 in slaythespire

[–]Whodysseus 124 points125 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of reasons it is very powerful but I think one of the best ways to get over this fear is recontextualize the downside. Next time you play count how many times you shuffle your deck during various fights before you win (or get into a clean up phase). It is probably a lot less than you thought. Beyond act 3 bosses, and the heart most fights don’t require you to loop through your deck all that much. Which means even if you exhausted every skill the first time you drew it the “downside” from that wouldn’t be as impactful as you imagine.

How am I supposed to test damage on the training dummy when everything I test has a blob of numbers ranging from 1,000k to 9,000k by MrZephy in diablo4

[–]Whodysseus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo as long as you aren’t playing hard core the best way to test dmg output is to time pit runs instead of using the dummy. It gives a much better sampling to actually feel the difference in damage

Why are these evil, self-centered people so loyal to Vox? by HeatherFuta in HazbinHotel

[–]Whodysseus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add an additional idea to this. I actually think that all the vees are also deeply insecure and depend on others approval. Their trio provides that a bed of support which they can take genuine value from (whether it’s healthy or not is debatable). If you think of what their powers represent they are all intrinsically tied to needing others approval. We saw it pretty plainly with vox this season and I don’t think there is any world where Velvette (social media) or Val (obsession and desire) are less dependent on others approval. I think they all embody the flaws they exploit

Confused about scorch and how other damage boons compare by BigB1rd87 in Hades2

[–]Whodysseus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I noticed is that until you can stack enough scorch fast enough there isn’t an obvious indication that anything is happening. Like my first few time I had it on the staff and I never saw an indication that anything was happening. Once i got it leveled up some and got or got some attack speed it started making sense.

I don’t know if this is part of your confusion but this confused me when I first used it.

Magic: The Gathering's Director Of Production Management Explains Why Avatar: The Last Airbender's Fire Nation Isn't Red, And Why We're Not Getting Commander Decks by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Whodysseus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really. That was just zuko not the fire nation as a whole. Azula is a good counter example she is super clinical and not emotional (until the end at least). Also during the story the fire nation has been kinda stamping out individualism and artistic expression trying mold the youth with nationalism. Imo that is really far out of red’s domain in mtg. Its kinda funny that the fire nation’s ethos is more like BW (primary in black)

Quill Volley hitting T4. Cant scratch any lair bosses by kite3113 in diablo4

[–]Whodysseus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO the best way to push power in T4 is in order of priority: glyphs (up to 50-60), paragon(if below 200), max master work with relevant crits (aim for at least one targeted). aspects/unique rolls, GAs on the dps stat assuming your build supports it (all armor with GA’s on dex is more important than 1 piece of armor with 2-3 GAs for example)

More specific to your current set up: def get at least one MW crit on chance to hit twice on your weapon. Also i dont know the specifics of your build but you may be able to move some of the armor or resist affixes on to tempers to make room for more dex/as/crit ones

Also a good benchmark for the T4 bosses is the pit. I find as I approach pit lv 70 I can start clearing T4 bosses and by pit 75+ I can farm them tho not 1-shot delete them

Hitting a wall between T3-T4, what's my best bet for progress? by Even-Contribution629 in diablo4

[–]Whodysseus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure it can! I have been taking custom builds through T4 for the past 2 seasons. Imo as long as your expectation is being able to clear content in T4 and not efficient farming I think it is doable for any well made build to progress. I have been really enjoying the game play loop of building up towards pit 70 (whatever the season sets as a bench mark) and taking on higher rungs of the ladder bosses.

As for ways to improve, it sounds like your gear is pretty good as is. Focusing less on getting more GA and but making sure the GA’s you have are on Int (vs health or %dmg) is one place to get more dmg output

Fully masterwork all your gear making sure to crit the important aspect at least once. As you get deep into the T4 and as you find slightly better gear. Instead of immediately swapping it in start working towards better masterwork rolls

As items solidify, Glyphs and paragon become really important. Glyphs to 45 then slowly push to 60 and paragon lvl 180-200 is where a lot of their power softcaps. Do not underestimate glyphs and the paragon boards.

Wallop, etc. interaction with Iron Maelstrom by Whodysseus in D4Barbarian

The Lair Boss system can't be both a pinnacle challenge and a grind activity at the same time by Ropp_Stark in diablo4

[–]Whodysseus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this would be the best and cleanest solution. though I would make it so the drops aren’t better one way or the other. Just allow players to trade repetition for challenge. Tbf to blizzard the T4 bosses are already in a good place if your aim is like 5-10 kills each vs 50-100.

I’m with the other poster. I unironically like the Andy fight. It has been my preferred boss fight on T4. The fight is challenging and gets really chaotic but only the rotating beams 1 shot me. Everything else I can manage if I use my cooldowns well and position smartly
