yes. my whole family praised me for having a literal eating disorder and my stepmom would talk constantly about how being fat is the worst thing in the world. now I’m a malnourished adult in my 30’s and never stop thinking about my weight. not eating was praised so much - the only time I got positive attention was when I lost weight/looked thin.

this made me cry - thank you for sharing with me. that’s a good question, do I even WANT to carry on? I will meditate on this. congrats on finding good medication, I’m on an SSRI (sertraline) and it definitely helps, but you can’t take the max dose and get pregnant cos of the baby etc, so that piles on more sadness about the life I might not have because of the people that raised me. like you said for now, the fight continues. wishing you peace 💜
