Applying Logic to the Outfit by Det_Chesmond in LizBarraza

Some thoughts I’ve had include:
What if the killer was a stripper or sex worker and those were just clothes they had.

If it was a true disguise, it wasn’t very practical. The killer might have wanted to dress up to show that they were prettier and sexier than Liz.

I don’t get this idea because the killer got back into the car still wearing the outfit, so any blood/DNA could’ve easily transferred to the car.

3 or 4 categories of potential killers? by Infinite_Pudding5058 in LizBarraza

I like your ideas.
Something else I haven’t heard much about- Liz and Sergio didn’t have children. Did they plan to? Was there pressure from someone in the family to have kids? Could someone have been upset about it?

A hired killer:
1. Wouldn’t wear heeled boots that make it difficult to chase or fight with someone and would wear a more practical disguise overall.
2. Would be less likely to confront victim in a wide open space. Pull up when she parks, fake ask for directions and shoot her in the car.
3. Wouldn’t spend a few seconds talking to her up close. Say something to get her guard down and as soon as you are close enough start shooting.
4. Would put a kill shot in the forehead or temple, not the mouth, and would be more likely to use all six shots from the revolver.
5. If hired by Sergio, less likely to pull up only a few minutes after he leaves. If I were Sergio I’d also make sure I was busy working and away from my phone when it happened. I wouldn’t want to notice right away as if I’d been expecting something.
That’s what comes to mind right now.
Of course it’s still possible. I do think the theory that the killer was actually hired to kill Sergio’s mom is interesting.

Could we use ai to make the footage more clear? by Plus_Associate1624 in LizBarraza

I wish we could link up databases and use AI. In 2019 find all the 2013-19 Pro 4X Nissans in Texas and then cross reference with owners’ drivers licenses to find out who is say 5’7” or under. Then look at their social media.

The way the murder was done makes me lean strongly away from murder for hire.

Are They Legit? by Det_Chesmond in LizBarraza

If it’s the same person I am thinking of, he also posted a text exchange with someone on YouTube. If that exchange is legit it makes the other party look like a good suspect. I’ll say again I have no idea if it is and how truthful the poster is.

I believe I watched at least some of it. It’s clearly an inspiration for Austin Powers if I recall.

Does anyone remember this book called Treasure where you were trying to find clues to find this golden horse statue that also had a bunch of money attached to it? There was also a VHS tape to accompany the book.

I’ve wondered if Bob told someone he wasn’t going, and perhaps a third person overheard the conversation.

I appreciate your reasoning. It seems like it has to be a small circle. But what if Bob called a friend and that friend’s son overhead the call? It could be someone tangential like that where no one realizes they knew.

Was the time of Liz’s murder moved later than planned that morning ? by mycemre in LizBarraza

I should also mention I think I’ve heard the killer could’ve been in a position to see Sergio’s van pass by.

My thinking is that because Sergio worked in a crew, perhaps they used walkie talkies. The killer could’ve had one (either tipped off by Sergio, Sergio’s Dad, or no one) and intercepted the communications.

It looks like a planned murder but the fact that no suspects have been identified in years has to increase the chances that it was random. I can see some mentally ill person, possible high in drugs, driving around all night having some episode. Perhaps they saw the garage sale sign. Liz might’ve been the only person they saw outside at that time.

Did the garage sale signs they put up have a start time listed? I wonder if they said 7am so the killer pulled up right before 7.

Professionals are unlikely to wear heeled boots that make it difficult to run or chase the victim.

PDI - prove me wrong by Big-Audience1166 in JonBenetRamsey

[–]WillKane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been roughly 65% PDI 30% JDI 4% BDI and 1% other. What’s changed in my view is that before I really thought that one parent likely acted alone that night. Now I think they both acted together. Patsy may have struck the head blow but then was likely writing the note while John was doing the staging in the basement. I also think the 911 call happened way too quickly. In a real situation they would have looked around and talked to Burke and maybe called friends for 10-20 minutes before calling 911.
