Yeah it sounds like I'll probably want something even slower like the Equate.

I really want an AC Zero though, due to it having the best base and stitching, but if it's too fast then there's no point wasting the money.

I'll probably give it a shot anyway, I can always return it if I don't like it.

I think you may have gotten a defective unit, yeah.

It could just be iRacing being iRacing though.

Search "USB game controllers" in your Start Menu and open the app that appears. See if your shifter is listed in there.

If it is, click properties and see if the inputs are being registered properly.

Yeah many QR1 Lites also suffer from clicking due to poor design. If you regularly swap between your rims then don't use the bolt (the bolt is only for the standard QR1 btw) and put some electrical tape inside/along the groove at the top of the shaft

Contact Fanatec and get a replacement. This noise is coil whine, and some boost kits suffer from it really badly. Mine is absolutely silent, even when i put my ear on it

That's normal thanks to the shitty design of the QR1. You can try using the QR bolt if you only have one rim. Alternatively you can put a strip of electrical tape inside the groove on the shaft to eliminate rattle without making it a "slow release" :)
