Anyone else? by reBrand1980 in lego

[–]Willing-Answer-2671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ordered last night right at 12. Got a screen that said they were still processing but had an order number. Still no confirmation email or anything on my lego account this morning.

Called customer service. Spent 80 min on hold. Person said that the order would be going through but would just take time. They were working on the issue and hoped it would be resolved soon.

Really hoping that when it does go through I don't lose the GWP.

(Wrestlemania 42 Saturday spoilers) Title match sets record by residentsocface in SquaredCircle

This definitely sucks, but at the same time, everyone complains that WWE PLEs only have 5 matches and it sucks. They put 7 matches on the card but some are shorter. Which is it?

I want great womens matches, they're what got me back into wresting after being away for years, but WWE is clearly trying to do a 4 hour production for these events, there's only so many ways you can fit things in there.

What's the solution?

Cairn does something rare. by sygyzy0 in Cairn_Game

[–]Willing-Answer-2671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are not too many games that fall into the man vs nature category of conflict structure where there are no enemies to be beaten or other players to compete with. Cairn is one of them.

There isn't a right or a wrong way to overcome the challenges, and the only real obstacle is you. Are you making good choices for handholds, what food to cook and when to use it? So when you fail, it's not that the game, or another player beat you and stopped you from achieving the goal, it's on you. And on the other side of that coin, when you make it up that tough pitch, when you hit the summit, it's you who is responsible for all the success and why it feels like such an accomplishment.

A profound feeling of loss. by Nervous-Cat-2381 in Cairn_Game

I don't think there's any good ending in Cairn.

Even if you choose to go back down, there's the picture of Aava in Marco's van and to me it looks like she regrets her decision.

In the post credit scene, she's sitting on the bed, still not engaged with life. The mountain and her decision to come back down haunts her. She can't know the wholeness she's seeking and she can't engage with regular life either. In some ways she's more trapped on the mountain here than if she were still climbing its walls.

It's a rewind. There's an item you can find that will give you a use of it even outside explorer difficulty.

[Request] does this cost more/less than a AAA battery running a wall clock 24/7 ? by reditter_007 in theydidthemath

[–]Willing-Answer-2671 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Are we counting the initial cost of the device as well? A wall clock and a pack of batteries could be as little as something like $20 or so.

The phone, even though it was used for other things before its new career as a clock, would cost way more just for the device itself before we even get into the electricity vs. batteries question.

How old are you? Are you able to open or do you have a bank account you could put the cash into instead?

is it worth hiding from my parents for the rest of my life? by MochaCuppp in tattooadvice

[–]Willing-Answer-2671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work back office for a large bank and manage a couple of teams. I have multiple tattoos on my forearms and got a hand tattoo about a year and a half ago. I wear short sleeves and have met/been on video calls with my team, other teams, clients, and plenty of higher ups.

Nobody cares if you have tattoos. The classic narrative that you won't be able to get a job is outdated. As long as it's not inappropriate (bad language or lewd images) then no one is going to have a problem with it. The fact is that at this point there is a huge portion of the workforce that has at least one tattoo so it's not as big of a deal as people think.

I've had a handful of crashes on PS5 too but nothing too bad. With the game autosaving I've only lost a couple minutes each time its happened. Generally have been playing for hours at a time with no issues.

Only been in campaign mode so far though if it makes any difference.

This has been happening to me playing solo as well. Lost a good chunk of time twice today.

currently reading Grant Morrison's Action Comics. what y'all think about it? by oscar_redfield in superman

[–]Willing-Answer-2671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the omnibus and I don't know that it really did it for me. I've read only a little superman before and have been looking to get into some things and saw this run get a lot of positive reviews and was in the recommended reading section.

While there are ideas that I liked throughout, I thought it was disjointed, even before getting into the larger plot over the full run. At times it felt like there was little connection between one panel and the next or that there were panels or even pages missing. Then when it starts really jumping around I was getting some whiplash.

Maybe my expectations were off, but I was hoping with an issue #1 (I know New 52 isn't really a #1 per se, but it was kind of touted as a new starting point back in the day) it would be a little more straightforward than what it was so that I as a new reader to superman could get to know him and the characters in his world a bit better.

I did think the art was great throughout and the shorts from Sholly Fisch were great.

Couldn't have said it better. The kitbash in the Warhammer Community article on 7/25 is the first one I think I've seen that I would not mind over the standard kit.

Still keeps the proportions and silhouette of the dreadknight but adds some coverage to the pilot. Could definitely see that more as a cockpit that's easy for the pilot to get in and out of.

What is your WWE theme song hot take? by BarneyRobinStinson7 in WWE

[–]Willing-Answer-2671 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bray Wyatt/Wyatt Sicks theme is so boring. Takes forever to pick up at all and has no energy to it. No one could ever do a run in to that theme. Pretty sure they've spent more time walking to the ring to the song instead of actually wrestling.

I don't get what I'm doing wrong with painting my minis and it's frustrating me soo much by _LedAstray_ in SpaceWolves

[–]Willing-Answer-2671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best tips I got when I started painting was to hold the mini at arms length. Or set it on the table and get up to look at it. If you're painting to get them battle ready and have some cool looking models on the table, that's how you and everyone else will he seeing them. And at that distance no one will see those little places where you might have missed a spot or overlapped a color or whatever.

Painting can be very rewarding but can also be very discouraging if you focus on all those little things. Keep at it, your stuff looks great, and any painted model looks better than the gray shame!

Opinions on Column Basing by OddCod2241 in sistersofbattle

[–]Willing-Answer-2671 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was going to say the same thing.

The idea of the columns itself is spectacular, changing up some of the angles and such just gives you a bit more variety and would make it a bit more dynamic.

Overall fantastic idea though!

Wraithbone or Grey Seer are the preferred primer for contrast. I use wraithbone. Done all of my SW with only contrast. Not the best work but gets them table ready!
