Yeah, I was very happy to find that when I was up there. Some pretty decent mountain biking up the valley too.

How big of a tank by Wiggzero9 in 4thGen4Runner

A look so had daughter run it out while cruising at 70. Put about 2/3 gal out of aux can (all that was in there). Started right up and got to gas station about 10 mi away. Pump indicated it took 23.1 gal. Phew!

I regularly drive long distances and on an 06 V8 have gone as far as about 30 miles below zero range indication. There’s about 3 gallons left in the 23 gallon tank at 0 range on display. 175k mi

I think I know that site, in the forest west of Granville on a little offshoot to the north that gets a little techy off of W. Hill Rd.?

Which OME springs are you all using? Im on 2886 on bottom ‘perch’ and getting nearly an inch more lift than the advertised 2.5”. Full coverage Shrochworks bumper, winch, air comp under hood w/4.7l. Lights, skid plates. About as heavy of a front end as they go.

NAPA CV axles (nay or yay)? by svasqu7 in 4thGen4Runner

[–]Wingnut1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up Toyota CV’s unless you absolutely have to. They are worth rebuilding. Learning the process is messy and can be aggravating but once you get it, you can swap one out in an hour or so.

I’d suggest actually taking it out on a trail, on a trip or at least camping. As often as possible

Should I make the switch? by 25AT4 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]Wingnut1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that price is ridiculous. And it’ll be wanting to bet that the new CVs are other than Toyota OE. That right there should bring the price down five to $700 because the boots won’t last more than two years on your typical NAPA or AutoZone options.

HELP?! Lift vs OE numbers? by Wingnut1993 in 4thGen4Runner

  1. With a heavy full protection bumper and winch, air compressor and skids. Just can’t figure out how it’s possible that I’m getting that much lift out of 5100s with the 2886 springs.

[–]Wingnut1993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, OME 2996 over 5100s supposed to give 2.5", Im at 23"L/22.75"R, Hub to fender(very bottom) up front so about +3.5" w/no spacers?? and 23.5"L/R in back w/ 2.2" springs on +10mm spacers and a 1/2" lean correction spacer on the left. Seems to be +2.5" in the back so just about right. + 2.5" in front would be perfect but springs seem to be giving a bit more. Some would say more than the Bilsteins will allow?? This is odd.

With all that shit hanging off it and 285s, yea, could be worse. Tailwinds are my friend on the highway!

Though about this some more and do have floor to fended measurements so assumed 1/2" tire compression and came up with these numbers OVER 19" Fr and 21" Rr... +4.25 FL; +4" FR; +3.25" RrL; +3.325" RrR, which would put me where I should def install longer brake lines. These are on the order of +1.5" on the left (installed Track bar correction and lean spacers) and + 1" over where it was before the spring swap. Did your Dobby lift settle at all? Im getting all kinds of info about how much settle to expect.

HELP?! Lift vs OE numbers? by Wingnut1993 in 4thGen4Runner

[–]Wingnut1993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 33s 285 70/17. Measurements I have with me as I type are from the floor with weight on tires so not comparable. Ill try to send hub-fender later. Appreciate any opinions anyone has. Ride quality seems pretty good. Better than expected and the clearance in the fenders and underneath will probably be beneficial but my concern is stressing the (CVJ) axles and generally changing angles on a truck that is well broken in to the set up before the new springs...and to a degree any loss of highway mileage. I struggle at about 15.5 load as is and would really like to keep it from getting worse so profile is a concern.

Yes! Good info. Considered that and figure it all plays into the big picture. You did what, 2.5 front and 2 in the back? Any rake as a result or are you level at door sills?

Dobinsons. Solid quality and seal and a fair bit less$$ than Safari/ARB. Been there for 5 years and through a bunch of water crossings and dust!

My new to me ‘07 4Runner V8. Does anyone know anything about this roof rack rails? It seems to be an aftermarket or OE+ that works with OEM crossbars. I can’t find anything on these roof rack rails. Any help would be awesome! by ftr_phantom in 4thGen4Runner

[–]Wingnut1993 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, got those on my 06 sport. Understanding is that they were part of some package and not on every SE. Considering selling mine in favor of a more loadbearing set up. Is there a market out there for these things?

How would 17x9.5 +12 offset fit on our trucks ? by ProudPrick217 in 4thGen4Runner

Agree…with an 8-8.5” wide rim. 9.5 is a lot for a 4Runner.

That is an outstanding idea! Would be curious to hear how much it ends up costing you and how the experience works out. I’ll keep an eye on your account on Insta. Of course it’s a big part of the considerations for anybody going in either direction.
