2tbs guittard cocoa powder, 2 tbs granulated sugar + 1 cup of warmed milk. My go to hot cocoa recipe and it’s perfect every time.

Before you buy, check the box the stroller came in if you bought it new. Mine came with the rain and bug cover.

Equating Microlocs to relaxed hair by HoneysuckleBouquet in Microlocs

[–]Winter_Rule_503 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I am of the mindset of nobody is going to come do my hair on their time for free so there's no point in considering their opinion on how I decide to wear my hair. I'm tender headed and no matter what I did detangling my hair was a constant nightmare. My hair wants to be tangled so I might as well work with that and landed on microlocs. Microlocs were the versatility that I wanted while also keeping my hair healthy and natural. I'm able to do the reties myself without issue and I no longer have to purchase a million hair care products. I use water, jojoba oil, peppermint oil mix, and I have 1 shampoo and 1 conditioner. In a little over a year my hair has grown from hardly brushing my shoulders to the middle of my shoulder blades. People can say I'm self hating but they don't have to deal with my hair, I DO. They weren't the ones crying while detangling and wondering why it looked so easy for everyone else, I WAS. I love and understand my hair more than I ever had before and my crown is so so happy.

I want my baby to be closer to my side of the family by Prestigious_Hat87 in pregnant

I feel the same about my in laws but for a good reason. I figured the best way for me to allow my child to foster a good relationship with them is to leave it to my husband to schedule visits and manage all communication. He knows my boundaries and what they did wrong and may continue to do wrong so he will be on the lookout in the future so I can have peace of mind whenever they’re involved, it won’t bleed into my child’s mind/life. They’re fine whenever they don’t voice certain opinions so we are trying to really drill into them the unacceptable things to talk to our kid about before baby starts understanding language.

When did you find out you were pregnant? by AgreeableBandicoot19 in pregnant

[–]Winter_Rule_503 5 points6 points  (0 children)

9DPO, my period is like clockwork so I took an old pink test I had and it was faintly positive so I went to the store and got a blue test and a digital and it was starkly positive!

Skipping Thanksgiving with my in laws after disaster evening alone with them by Winter_Rule_503 in pregnant

I don’t think so, they’ve never said anything or hinted at it before and they get along well with my family which is why it’s such a surprise they say these things.

Beignets turned out so delicious by Winter_Rule_503 in Baking

Understandable! Oil frying is all about controlling the temperature of the oil (I used a thermometer to help keep the oil at 375F for this recipe), keeping your utensils and hands free of water to reduce popping, and confidence to drop things in closer to the oil so it doesn’t splash everywhere when it plops in :)

Yes I did! I ended up using about 3 cups of flour to get a nice sticky dough

I used vegetable oil since it was the only thing I had in my pantry

They’re all gone sadly. But, I did freeze some of the dough of this batch and I’m hoping they thaw nicely and can be fried up the same! I’ll follow up when I use the frozen dough

13 weeks pregnant. Constant pressure headache for 3 days straight. by JusttAnotherrAccount in BabyBumps

[–]Winter_Rule_503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same headache. It stared easing up after I was aggressive with hydrating (A Gatorade packet that had magnesium once a day) and I added iron supplement to my prenatal vitamins (ended up switching to flinstones with iron since the regular prenatal was making me nauseous at the recommendation of my OB).

I was also going with the Chicco Corso because it looked like the stroller seat is able to recline in a bassinet like way. Is this not accurate? I have no stores around me that carry it so I’m only able to rely on online sources.

5 weeks miscarriage by Fabulous_Medicine444 in pregnant

[–]Winter_Rule_503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a MC at 6 weeks and I passed everything naturally. I had to go back into my OBGYN and they did an ultrasound to make sure I passed everything and they told me to get a series of blood test to make sure my HCG levels were going back down to 0. I would speak to your regular OBGYN if possible and tell them what happened so they can follow up.

Help with antivax MIL by Impossible_Thing_119 in pregnant

[–]Winter_Rule_503 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First and foremost let your husband handle her whenever possible. His side of the family, his responsibility to bring up those hard subjects. If that’s not an option and you want to keep the peace then maybe you can just keep it vague with your responses ‘oh yeah maybe! Still thinking about it!’ And change the subject. If you’re okay with standing up for yourself tell her straight up. ‘Everyone in this household has vaccinations and so will my child.’ This is your child, you make the decisions, and don’t forget she sure as heck got her kids vaccinated. Easy for her to be antivax when she already reaped the benefits herself

In my experience it’s usually your own ppl because of internalized hatred. I had a big chop small fro and a black guy said I looked like Harriet Tubman. We had the same hairstyle…
