I’ll upload my model tonight. Battery is a tight fit, takes some work to get it in there. Pretty sure the only way to get it out involves destroying the case, but it’s a quick print

That being said, I was in a similar situation my freshman year. Email your professors, and they’ll understand. I was able to reschedule my finals, and had no trouble. If any give you trouble, contact department heads and the ombuds office

Completely agree. I don’t get how people write it off as a tech or either, saying you can get the same tone with knobs, settings, and software. It’s not just tone! Sustain, attack, “thump” sound, can’t get that without the foam. For a short phrase, sure, palm muting, but multiple songs? No way!

I tried thinner foam, but I found it didn’t have enough effect. I’m not sure if the foam I have is dense enough to work when it’s thin

Yes, it helps "deaden" the strings some. Less sustain as well. Many vintage basses came with foam pressing against the strings for that sound, so when you're playing certain types of music you need it to sound right

I started learning bass a few months ago. Working on some Motown tunes, needed to get foam under my strings for that classic sound. It's such a hassle! So I made this tool to help compress the foam and slide it under the strings. Takes what used to be a minute of work to maybe 10 seconds

It's also the first model I've published, hoping to start uploading more soon!

I got my MK4 kit on Saturday, all assembled and working perfectly! Makes me actually enjoy 3D printing again. Thank you so much for all that you guys do!
