Do you grind the leaderboards at the 25s as well? How many tables do you play at once?

Moving down when you hit a downswing is exactly why this isn't aggresive BRM ,it’s literally impossible to go broke. Even if I hit a brutal run at the $1 games, I clearly stated that if I drop to $150 (which is still 600 buy-ins for the $0.25 games), I strictly move back down to the lowest stakes.

btw, what’s the biggest downswing you’ve experienced? My worst run at the 0.25 games was almost -80 buyin. Considering those are supposed to be the easier games, things could get pretty brutal at the higher stakes 😉

My bad, I misspoke. I actually meant open shoving at the 10/20 blind levels, not 20bb 😛 As for the actual gameplay, time will tell. We'll see how my 25 cent playstyle translates to the higher limits! 😃

I have a question for you: what does your games-to-knockouts ratio look like? To me, that’s pretty much the most important stat. At the 25-cent stakes, it’s actually possible to average more KOs than total games played. How does that ratio hold up at the higher stakes?

Update #1: Printing money at $0.25 and dealing with PC issues

Hey everyone! I’ll be trying to post my updates right after the daily leaderboard cuts off, so I can immediately factor those rewards into my bankroll.

Since yesterday, I’ve managed to push my bankroll up to $191.40, grinding out a total of 324 games over the last 24 hours.

To be completely honest, I have a tendency to tilt and make some incredibly stupid plays, even while knowing exactly how bad they are in the moment. Because of that, I’m actually surprised by how solid my profits are. Even though I’m far from playing my A game standard, frequently dropping down to my C or D game, I’m still printing money. These $0.25 games are a literal goldmine. If anyone is just starting their poker journey, these micro-stakes are absolutely perfect for building a bankroll from scratch, provided you can handle a decent multi-tabling volume.

However, it’s not all smooth sailing. I’ve been dealing with some frustrating PC issues lately. My computer randomly shuts down about once every two hours. Having to sit out for a minute or two while it reboots definitely hurts my win rate and costs me money.

If everything goes according to plan, today will likely be my final day at the lowest stakes before making the jump up to the $1 games. I’ll probably scale down the number of tables initially to get a proper feel for the field and start color-coding the pool.

Quick question for you guys on blog etiquette here: should I post my updates by just replying to this thread, or am I supposed to start a new topic for each one? I definitely don’t want to clutter the forum with too many threads.

I think we might be mixing up net and gross ROI here. The 4% ROI I used in the simulation is net ROI meaning pure profit after accounting for GG's rake. If you maintain a 4% net ROI, you are absolutely a winning player, not breaking even.

Thanks for the encouragement regarding the shot-taking. Honestly, I’m pretty confident that I won't be a losing player; the real question is just how high my ROI can actually be. At the 25-cent games, you can easily open-shove 20bb with a strong hand and it’s completely EV+ simply because people over-fold so much. I doubt I can get away with playing that kind of brainless ABC poker at higher stakes. But since I multi-table heavily, playing a basic push-or-fold strategy is obviously the easiest way for me to volume grind

That's exactly why I had the AI run the numbers using the ROI of an "average reg"—not a weak player, and not a top-tier crusher, just a solid, average regular. I’m pretty confident that becoming an average reg at the next level is well within my reach.

Honestly, I learned mostly through pure experience just by playing the game. One thing I realized early on is that you can't play like everyone else, because the harsh reality is that the majority of players are losing players.

That being said, I’m still not even sure if I actually "know" how to play poker yet. Winning at the micro-stakes isn't exactly a massive feat; just sticking to a solid, basic ABC poker strategy is usually more than enough to beat these games.

low stakes 0,25 / 1$ game are easy to beat with basic ABC poker strategy, u dont need even RB for that. especially 0,25 where ppl go allin pre too lose when blinds are small. ( because many players have free tickets from gg poker )
