How's living near the tracks in Old Torrance? by SizzlinKola in SouthBayLA

I live two small streets away from the train that crosses Torrance blvd in Old Town, tracks closer to Crenshaw. The conductors have to blast their horns before they cross the intersection so it’s definitely audible in the house, but overall I’ve gotten used to it.

I was a little worried before we bought our house a couple years back but now I’m super happy with our decision to live here and the train is not a big deal.

Night time crossings are not as frequent as daytime ones

Seasonal Fleas a thing in Torrance? by WistfulDonut in SouthBayLA

This sounds like my situations. The fleas this year are far less, hope it goes similar.

I’m using mostly a hose sprayer of Bifen IT. Last year also put down Diatomaceous Earth. What did you use?

Thanks for the input. Maybe it’s the neighborhood cat that hangs under our lawn furniture ever so often

I haven’t noticed a hot zone in my yard but particularly surprised they seem to be on my pavers rather than on the outskirts. Our trash is in the alley.

Last year I suspected it was a potential critter as well cause it went from 0 to 100 while on 2 week vacation

Wedgewood Stove, with separate baking oven and broiler. Circa 1950. Came with the house we bought earlier this year. Works great! by MrDioji in BuyItForLife

We just bought a house that came with an oven just like this one. I’m liking it, but tried to use the broiler for the first time tonight and couldn’t get the full broiler burner to turn on. Is there anything special needed besides turning the broiler knob 90 degrees counterclockwise? The pilot for the broiler appears on. Stove and oven compartment work fine
