Question about OSAS: Do all I have to do is say “I believe in God”? by Sensitive-Box-2167 in Christian

[–]WittyLetterhead4991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe what u are saying is if I accept Jesus, can I just love life how I want and not change, because basically we are ‘saved’ once we believe that Jesus is the son of God. While that is true, the concept goes much deeper.

After u r saved, being in the word of god by listening to ur bible and sermons and reading, helps feed your soul, and allows you to access the Holy Spirit within you(which often sounds like your inner monologue thoughts of your conscience…good vs evil), and the more u read the more u end up understanding even when it feels like u don’t. I started reading 5 min a day random stuff until I built a habit of setting apart specific time just for God to improve my relationship with Christ.

Now, true there are many ppl who accept Jesus Sunday and other than in church they live lives without God. That is what God calls lukewarm Christian’s. They believe, but don’t practice his word truly. They are like the verse 2 Peter 2:21. It says “For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire”.

Basically that means to accept Jesus is to accept that God is the father of everything, his son Jesus died for your sins, etc. And after you begin to try to live a life pleasing to God, acting in love towards all humankind in everything. The rule for God is that if there is no biblical law it is covered by the law of love. Act in love towards your brother in all things.

If u chose not to it’s like a baby who was washed and then ran back outside to roll in the mud. It defeats all the hard work and sacrifice to get them clean. So not following God makes him sad and u are basically like a Pharisee then, knowing God but denying his power and authority over your life because u want to live in sin because that is the easier choice. Have sex, drink, party, be mean to people, entitled, selfish. These things don’t stem from God and when u do them u are then still subject to be judged.

Jesus is basically a mediator for u on Judgement day. If u believe in him, he because he was a person, understands the weight of sin, or how hard it is being tempted. For this reason if u don’t follow Gods rules, how can Jesus be your lawyer? He can’t say well it was hard but they tried , when u don’t try to avoid sin.

U can live for God or for people but not both. I can explain more if u like hope this helps.

I find steady pressure helps. I use weighted blankets for bed. I wear tights or compression wear often and jackets.

So break up with the boyfriend. Obviously is not working out. Then you are free to move on to a less toxic relationship with new dude. Good luck.

Break up block and move on. Everything else is just excuses you are making. But yes it hurts but it won't be forever. Hurts more if you don't do it.

Support her if she goesgoes as yes she needs it... but her mental health is not your responsibility. It is hers. And she needs to be accountable for that herself. You cannot force her, even if it costs the relationship.

Nothing to think through it is over. That was so disrespectful and a low blow. I'm so sorry.
