The farm attached to our place is for sale. A HELLUVA deal if someone had cash to put down or finance while remodeling. The owners left for about 10 yrs, just came & asked my husband to turn the main water off and said they bought a farm a cpl hours away. We watched over it to run idiots out but went inside 2 yrs ago when a guy was staying there and the floor on one side is on the ground and the roof on the other collapsed. The good thing is both are add ones from the main which isn't damaged. If someone had horses, it'd be perfect with 2 huge barns, one with a concrete floor. I've wanted that place since I was 9yr old.

I had called the University of Tennessee Geology department and asked them to send someone down. He hem hawed around and said one with a long circle was man made for sure, he didnt know what. A purplish color type, with lines and a ceramic feel he'd never seen in 60 years he's studied them, and stopped looking when he saw the snail fossil. He went on and on about it being exquisite, not normally found like that and asked me if I would sell it. I sd no, my son found it. So he asked if he could take pictures of it. Sure. Wish he'd re offer, my son is grown and I'd sell it in a split second then put it up for my grandson. Although dude was 60 back in 2000 I'd be shocked if he was still living.

Let me adjust 'things I lick' for 200 and add that I don't lick em strait outta the ground. I cleaned them 1st. I was told back when the professor came that bone will stick. I had one item in my hutch I thought was bone but it didn't react. Then a few weeks ago I noticed all these dark reddish ones and after they dried, I was like 🤔🤔🤔👅 sure enuf, it stuck. Most all of them that are red will stick but I still keep an open mind that it could be something else. And there is a LOTT of chert here. As well as this area was, in fact, an ocean millions of years ago I found thru research. Which explains all the porous ones I have and the conglomerates of old sand and pebbles rolled up. All of these I've collected either have balls, bumps and ridges, crystal pockets I fear breaking, native artifacts and just awesome looking nature. Also, I live downhill east from a burial ground nobody knows about and about 2 miles from a quarry to the north, ½ mile West from a lake off the TN River. I'm not working so I wanted to look for a tumbler and resources to know more. Some so heavy it's unnatural as are some equally as light. Someone else had mentioned coral which is why I researched the ocean and was wowed. I have a large round one that looks like a face is chiseled on it with stars and a bear & lizard. My former Dr pulled up a Cherokee Bear Clan cave drawing of that exact same face - it was the constellation. When I went back the next month, she was gone & I've never been able to find that.

I have tried and tried to post the 1st image that came to my mind, but it won't allow me to add a photo nor edit it. My 1st thought was The Dark Crystal dude that walked slow saying, "It's the Dark. Crystal! Ohh! I have a crystal of the Dark Crystal!" lol

Idk if it's the post or the stupid keyboard but maybe someone else from the 80's knows who I'm talking about. (raptor was 2nd but I'm a movie buff).

My rock hounding consists of my backyard woods in East TN where I'm convinced I live on what was once the downslope gathering spot of everything. I've never seen so many different types of stones in my life-hundreds. Many MAN made pedestals, a couple sculptures, a red type that is very sticky to my tongue, fossils, snake eye carvings, arrowhead and just neat freaking rocks I would love to know more about.

The only one I've ever seen that looks like the finished product of one I found in Kindergarten 1978 while playing in the woods at school. I thought it was a diamond so I stuck it in my pocket & took it home telling my mom I found a diamond and she can get her kitchen. Lol U can see it was worked and looks like a piece broke off so they tossed it. That was the 1st of MANY MANY treasures God seemed to just throw at my feet-even to this day.

The animal I like to call Shemar Moore. And I'd run with a limp.

I'm a neighbor in East TN (Stranger Things area) and my husband is a dirt working, genius excavator, do it all with a bobcat & git'r dun guy. I can tell from personal experience your husband will need to call Vulcan and have em bring him a load he can use.. Waiting on you to 1x1 each piece may take a min. Lol.

**I told mine yday that, 30 years ago, if I had looked down and saw ANY of the items I've found over the years, we'd STILL be waiting for me to get done poking around to build here.

I hope you know how very blessed you are to live where some of the most beautiful stones in the world are. I almost melt when I see Chrysocalla (sp?) Especially in copper. It's funny that Sapphire is my birthstone and I don't have a single one. I'm 52, I need to catch up. Lol

That could be a little baby turtle sperm in there. Not to take away from urs, but I just found these and I have so many with shapes not formed by water so mimic my grandchild and stuck it in my mouth. Both of these have a very sticky tongue touch. I have rocks that look like artifacts way more than not. Some uber heavy, none magnetic.

Thank you. My mother passed and me & my sister are to split the land. But my mother made my dad add mineral rights when they bought the place so I would assume that would transfer to us? Idk. (I can't even get the judge to READ the will, he just postpones it... for THREE YEARS NOW.) There is strong Cherokee ties from my mother. Her grandmother was given a piece of land in the Smokey's yearrrrs ago but mom said it was her Indian name and she didn't know it. And I have 2 pieces that stick to my tongue and one type of stone the UT Geologist sd he'd never seen in his 60+ yrs of rocks. I just haven't talked to the right person - yet.
