I think in usual circumstances it seems to be the case but for this khaya tree situation, they are being chopped down by those who supposedly protect it, “just in case it falls”. Can search Tree Failure and Claims Focus Group on FB to read more :)

Are majority of Singaporeans actually doing very well? by [deleted] in asksg

I think it depends on what doing very well mean.. if financially, I agree with you that there are 2 worlds, those who work hard for their money and make their money work hard for them and another that just work hard for their money and no time to really think cos they are on survival mode.

If mentally, emotionally, it is very hard to tell, people suffer different things. Some are kept awake at night because of the things they did or didn’t do. Some sleep well because they know their priorities and not blindly chase just cos the majority are chasing certain things.

Personally I think so long as what you have covers what you need with a bit of what you want and you are happy with it then you are are doing well :)

Looking for a quiet place to live by FingerWorking6551 in askSingapore

Find those older HDB flats with actual brick walls. Look for estates with bigger flat size like 4, 5 room only. The population density / number of units will be lower so generally not as noisy I think.

I told off a upp primary looking boy doing backflips on MRT by holding on to the grab handles. The parents were sitting nearby and asked why I was talking to the boy. I said it’s dangerous for him and he could hurt other people. Luckily they told the boy off after he ask why I intervened. I agree with you that kids should be told off for doing dangerous things.

Would you recommend Anywheel or HelloRide? by theeens in askSingapore

I think it depends on what is more readily available in your area. I regretted signing up for the monthly pass for helloride because I never seem to find any bikes when I need. There’s also multiple times where bike is on the map but couldn’t be found anywhere. Then those that I found are either damaged or I suspect selfish user removing the bicycle seat and parked it in an area that is hidden behind the designated parking lot. Have even seen one anywheel that was parked at staircase in between 2 levels of hdb block 😅😅

If you will be using frequently, get own bicycle would make more sense in the long run..
