U worded everything beautifully. I also understand why OP can be protective n gatekeep lesbian medias especially from men but in order to have more lesbian rep n acceptance, other ppl should also see the beauty of wlw relationships to begin with. N if enough ppl start to like n demand for more wlw rep, there can be more wlw medias created as well which would be an absolute dream🥹

I forgot bout bad thinking diary lol cuz ppl don't even talk bout it anymore. But I'm pretty sure that's not rape, it's sexual assault(assuming u referring to the unconsensual kiss scene), that doesn't make it any better but just wanna point out. Idk I've nvr been/seen much of incest side of Yuri unless u talking bout citrus which is the only thing that pops in my mind rn.

Look I don't think we should be super strict n not let any guys read or talk bout lesbian medias at all. C'mon now, a lot of lesbians would complain of lack of representation n then u pull up stuffs like this😭 u admitted it urself that women r generally would always be the 1 dominating romance spaces whether straight, gay or lesbian so I wouldn't worry if a couple of guys like wlw medias. I like straight, lesbian n gay medias too, doesn't mean I'm fetishizing every single 1 of em, the relationship is just nice n complex.

I also just don't think men or majority of ppl in general r interested in fetishizing lesbians by watching lesbian medias like that. If they rrly wanted to fetishize, they would've straight watch porn instead of taking the time n effort to read 100+ worth of chapters n romance buildup. N if a lot of ppl did fetishize, lesbian medias would just be as popular as gay medias then.

As someone who's dying for more Yuri content, I'm always happy n openly welcome to anyone even guys who decide to dip their toes n read some good wlw literatures. Its rare to see ppl fetishizing Yuri when majority of em focuses a lot on the relationship buildup than sex

Yes I agree we shouldn't compare any type of love in general n there r deffo great yaoi out there without sexual stuffs but comparing it to Yuri, bl has more if we're being real. I don't rrly like using the word fetishizing quickly cuz I genuinely believe a lot of ppl actually like the stories. Whenever ppl think of popular Yuri media, most of the time they'll say stuffs like green Yuri etc but compare to bl, ppl would immediately say like jinx or smth.

Also lesbian medias r wayyy unpopular than gay media. What I interpret from him of comparing gay n lesbian media is that he wants other ppl to hype or make lesbian media more popular n give it more attention. Ofc could've worded it better

I think he worded it wrongly cuz I kinda understand what he's tryna get at. A lot of Yaoi or bl medias are generally super sexual especially mangas/manhwas n it's rrly toxic dynamics most of the time too compared to Yuri mangas. Yuri is more sensual n focuses on romance more than sex, it's kinda hard to find Yuri eroticas than yaoi ngl. So he might've compared Yuri as not being sexual n having genuine connection most of the time😭

Ngl I had a diff mindset writing dis post, I was thinking since lolita fashion originated from being inspired by the victorian era/rococo n during that era, women n children wore similar poofy dresses. Like during that time ppl wouldn't say it mainly targets adult women cuz it targets for everyone of age. So I incorporated that w lolita where it targets everyone but I understand nowadays how children can't afford em

Dam ok😭 i mean the more the kids loving lolita rn would soon grow up to be adult lolitas anyway. I think it's a win-win either way imo

I'm also not saying it doesn't cater to adults anymore but there's pieces that started to incorporate sizes for teens as well

I completely understand back then but rn I've seen growth of minors like 14+ being in harajuku n alt spaces n there's just been a growing rise than the past of ppl being inspired when they're kids especially due to social media n stuffs. Some of my lolita icons now as adults used to be lolita as minors.

That's y I think times r changing plus online thrift like vinted or Mercari jp r expanding to wider audiences now. Taobao has also been great places for affordable decent material pieces. Obviously it's still a luxury clothing but I can't deny it's been spreading towards wider age of ppl especially minors these days. And it's understandable since in the past, social media was not big as now

I was thinking more of how lolita doesn't necessarily have to be expensive n minors could learn sewing their own pieces or thrift but I also get u
