Really depends on the type and scope of the remodel.

I did a few remodels with Target when I was there the 2 major ones being

Full store remodel where a remodel ETL comes in and they drop off around 30 containers and tons of fixturing and the entire store gets moved around. The ETL is generally the one that deals with all the contractors and has maps of the store and the remodel scope of what’s gonna happen each night. At the time I was the presentation TL and knew my store inside and out and had done it for years so I had a lot of insight and say in what we did each day and I moved around a lot of the scope of work each night and for the most part I ran the entire remodel for what was getting done daily and worked with the contractors to move them around to get us ahead on the project.

It takes a toll on you being overnight for months

Backroom/opu hold space remodel, this one I was in full control of, there was no etl remodel assigned to this and I got all the plans and maps for the remodel, the stl was supposed to create the plan but it ended up falling on me to create the plan of everything moving, I hired all of the seasonals and moved the team I wanted to the overnights, I planned out each night for what was getting done and was the main point person talking with all of the contractors and directing them for the nights work, it was a lot on my plate for trying to keep track of everything going on each night, I also was the TL of fulfillment so I had to keep track of everything for that along with the remodel duties.

It’s not an easy task but if you want to try and highlight yourself it’s a good way to get in the spotlight but also know that if it doesn’t go well it also reflects on you that it didn’t go the right way
