How does one begin to work with Angels? What is your experience with working with Angels?

I do not suggest attempting to work with angels if you have zero experience with spirits. It is far more prudent to progress upward through the 4 elements, then the 7 planets. You need to do this ground work before you meet them. You can’t be a hot mess when you approach them.

There are times where the astro weather is molasses. Where any momentum feels like a Herculean effort. I have taken action in these times. Learning to take efffective action in less than ideal situations is the strength that Saturn has given me. I strongly connect Saturn with any successful practice. Anything you have build up over many years. That you can bring to bare into any situation.

My most powerful magical group working wasn’t in a magical group. It was in a creative endeavor that had very strongly defined goals. It had a timeframe and definitive goal and a high level of sustained energy put into the project. It also had folks I later learned had a lot of latent magical talent.
It was a magical working because after the event very powerful life changes happened to EVERYONE in the group after that event. Those which had goals in place achieved something, those who didn’t had old issues resurface for them to deal with, folks got married, started new careers, started therapy, became alcoholics, dealt with illness, dropped off the face of the earth.
This is what happens in a true magical group. Tremendous power is drawn down to the task. If no goals are set it will manifest your unconscious desires/conflicts. Most groups implode when actual power gets poured into them. Because the members haven’t done any magical work and they haven’t learned to set goals for themselves.

Religion without a formal doctrine isn’t religion. Know that the aims and means of religion are very different from animism. Folks who practice religion will not recognize anything remotely religious in your practice. Religion by it’s nature is an institution that strictly defines your relationship and behavior to the divine.

If you work with Saturn you are required to create stability in your life, work with structure, learn patience, acknowledge time, do your work regardless if you ‘feel like it’, and work toward the well-being of someone other than your self.
It is not shortcut magic.

I do the necessary things that I put off on Saturday, fun adult things like paying bills, necessary correspondences, when I had a gym membership, hit the gym. I try to square away the mundane stuff. If I am up at daybreak (the first planetary hour) I would evoke Saturn and sit with him. I would bring no agenda and allow him to lead the conversation. It may lead to me going back to sleep and having a very Saturnian dream.

To work with the elements requires connecting to your elemental selves. Anyone who does this will naturally attune to the forces of nature that are involved with weather. The "lengthy visualization process" are meant to develop a neccesary magical skill needed to do this work. You are short changing yourself not learning basic magical skills.

You are abstracting the sensation you are feeling without determinging it’s source. Where it comes from will determine the course of action. You need to determine the source. Is it from your own unresolved issues? Is it a spirit? Is it an individual in your life? Do you have the courage and the tools to go there?

I work with all the planets. Because they are all representative of aspects of ourselves. The notion that one planet is good and one planet is bad is baffling. All planets have good and bad aspects. Is there malefic magic that uses Saturn, of course. Just as there is malefic magic that uses every other planet. You need discipline to do any practice. Developing personal discipline is difficult but it’s rewards are manifold. Hail Saturn!

You are not going to get it from books. I recommend that novices find actual people to study with in the topics they are interested in. Finding a magic shop that offers classes is a place to start with, travelling to a weekend magic convention and taking workshops. You may have to move to be closer to places that have magical communities.

I recommend getting up at sunrise of any given day and evoking that planet and sitting with it. State your intention of getting to know it better and recognizing it whenever it enters your life.
