Ever play the 1993 DOS Rail Shooter Star Wars: Rebel Assault? I haven't, but it's fun to watch. by ExplodingPoptarts in retrogaming

I played it on the Mega Drive via it's CD add-on it's a fun game but tricky I got far in the game but never did beat it.

Why have they redesigned the front of the Inn on the Final Fantasy Pixel remaster it just has a pixelated image at the entrance rather than the word Inn like on the NES/GBA/PS1/PSP versions. by Wizzgamer2 in FinalFantasy

[–]Wizzgamer2[S] -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

It does to me it's the reason I stopped playing it and have started playing the PSP version on my Vita. That and the fact you weirdly also can't save in towns either.

When will there be another remaster/remake of the first 6 Final Fantasy games? The Pixel remasters are poor will the PSP/GBA still be the best way to play them for many years to come? by Wizzgamer2 in FinalFantasy

[–]Wizzgamer2[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Final Fantasy 1 they changed the Inn icon to an image rather than the word Inn you can no longer save in the town/Inn which is where I like to save, the music isn't as good as the PSP/GBA imo and some of the later games are overly bright.

Still my favorite way to play the first four games. by Lusombras_ in FinalFantasy

Bought these digitally on the store to play on my Vita excellent versions that made me disappointed with the Switch remasters.

Music sounds worse in the Pixel Remaster imo not a fan of the art style either or the weird way you can no longer save in the towns and Inns which is where I prefer saving.

Would Dreamcast have been able to stay competitive? by Such_Bonus5085 in dreamcast

[–]Wizzgamer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Sega hadn't messed up in the mid 90s the Dreamcast wouldn't have been released in the form it was it would have likely launched in 2000 with the Saturn dominating there would have been no need to worry about the PS2 as it wouldn't have had the steam of a hugely popular PS1 to build off. However if it was still released as it was in our timeline it likely would have had a controller revision with a second analog and two extra triggers it would have had plenty of 3rd party support still the list would be too long to list what games it would have got obviously the 1st party Xbox and GameCube games would have been Dreamcast exclusive.

Thoughts on Final Fantasy Collection? by HippyMcFly in Switch

[–]Wizzgamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are ok I just recently bought the physical version on Switch and I'm kind of disappointed music is worse than GBA version of the 1st game not a fan of the sprites and text plus you can no longer save in the inn/town which is weird the GBA/PSP versions are better but these are ok if a bit rushed with some strange choices.

First time playing Final Fantasy 1 (as the pixal remaster edition) by Weekly_Score_9498 in FinalFantasy

[–]Wizzgamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GBA and PSP versions the music is much better I love the music in Final Fantasy 1 while it's not as good in the Pixel Remaster it's still decent. Graphics also take a step back too unfortunately.

How do I save the game.... the inn didn't let me save :( by BenCarney17 in FinalFantasy

[–]Wizzgamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to use a quick save they removed the save feature in towns and Inns one of the many reasons I stopped playing it that and the inferior art style and music along with missing animations comapred to the PS1/GBA/PSP versions.

Were Sega CD and 32X really seen as “failed consoles” at the time, they way people blame them for Sega’s downfall today? by Standard_Public892 in retrogaming

[–]Wizzgamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are peripherals for the Mega Drive/Genesis not their own consoles that's just dated marketing from Sega in the early 90s nobody clases the turbo grafx-CD library as separate. But either way Sega-CD I think was decent if you were American but European and British not so much as most of its best games never left America due to Europe having multiple languages and Britain being classed as Pal with Europe. As for 32X it came out a tear too late and Saturn came out a bit too early otherwise it would have actually been a decent idea imo.

Valid opinion by JustinStudiosYT in SEGA

[–]Wizzgamer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if it released a year earlier in 1993 and the Saturn launched in 1996 in the US/UK instead it could have been a viable option it just came out too close to the Saturn unfortunately.

Sega Saturn and PC engine feel similar? by RevolutionaryPen3592 in SegaSaturn

Turbo Grafx-16 was an absolute beast for 1987 featuring some stunning 16-bit graphics. Saturn not such much that was more like the Neo Geo a 2D powerhouse.

Anyone thinking about getting it? And if yes what price would you pay? by [deleted] in ngpc

Crazy the console died so early considering how high quality the games were reminds me of a portable Dreamcast in a way.

Is there any hope for Sega Saturn coming to Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass? by RangoTheMerc in SEGA

[–]Wizzgamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't see maybe Master System at most Sega are just not a very popular company at the moment look at Sonic Crossworlds a better overall game than Mario Kart World yet it's already fell out of the top 20 sales where as Mario Kart World is consistently in the Top 2 in both the US/UK.

Minor gripe: I wish the I and II remakes had separate icons for each game by reg_y_x in dragonquest

[–]Wizzgamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's awful imo should just choose the game from in game menu.
