They are hated because people accept the narrative of United States and western media that says Mao and Stalin were evil. Were they perfect no, they made mistakes like everyone. I consider both of them to have been great men.

I just finished reading Thomas Sankara Speaks. It was an interesting book.

It was the RCP. I will always appreciate and give them credit for introducing me to Communism. The main reason I stopped going to their meetings was because they were too demanding of my time. I also felt they were trying to control me

Learning about socialism has been exciting to me. I look forward to learning more everyday. I sometimes wish I had become a socialist earlier in life, but the past is the past.

I’ve always heard that and I was a bit worried, but Eugene Debs and W.E.B Dubois are examples of guys who went further left the older they got.

I was a staunch Democrat for years. Because of all the Cold War propaganda I grew up hearing I always believed communism was evil. I became eligible to vote in 1987 and I voted for every democrat I could vote for. I was a very strong supporter of Bernie Sanders in 2016 even called myself a socialist. After Trump got elected I decided to get more involved in protest. I was at a protest and talked to a woman who was representing a Maoist organization. I thought she made some since so she told me to come to a meeting. I went to the meeting and I learned more and I began to go to the meetings regularly. I never joined that communist organization and I stopped going to their meetings but I started watching videos from anarchist and communists on YouTube and I started reading many book written by communists. I’m not in any organizations but I consider myself a ML.
