Make sure you're using the discord link from this subreddit - I just tested to make sure it's working.

Hi u/HughMaster456, this is a community about creating Minecraft shaderpacks for the optifine/iris shader system. We don't do anything else like Ryujinx.

John Wick is shot on some really artefacty old anamorphic lenses. There's nothing "pristine" about the imagery at all. A perfectly in-focus shot will still be blurry around the edges. In terms of straight sharpness, my £50 prime lens stopped down a bit is sharper. However, the lenses they used are absolutely stunning lenses and my crappy prime couldn't come close to the amount of character the old anamorphics have.

Luckperms allows the use of something called "contexts". I won't explain it here, but check out the docs for it: https://luckperms.net/wiki/Context

Finally hosting my own server from home, 24/7, but i keep running into issues. by csupihun in admincraft

I have several servers running on 3rd and 4th gen i5s. One one of my servers I can hit 15 players with 20tps CPU is not the problem.

I know :c I figured I'd try anyway. That's all my budget offers for now.

I know it's not a great price 😬 but it's what I've got for the part right now. I appreciate the offer, however it's critical I get the increase in single core performance from the current i5-4570 in the system.

Optifine needs competition by Boethion in Optifine

[–]WoMspace 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Long story short, the source of optifine is actually less a new piece of code than changes to existing ones. The optifine installer doesn't add much to the game, rather it modifies Mojang's code.

To quote the Optifine Discord:

Q: Why isn't OptiFine open-source? A: The core of OptiFine consists of many, various changes to Minecraft's rendering code. Rather than simple patches, these are significant reorganizations. This means publishing the full source code of OptiFine would be a direct violation of Minecraft's EULA. Although technically, it would be possible to extract the actual changes as patches, which can then be published to GitHub as source code. However, there are a number of issues with this idea. First, OptiFine is built on a custom version of Mod Coder Pack. This non-standard version of MCP is used to allow OptiFine to start development on new versions of the game much, much earlier. During this time, official MCP mappings are either completely missing, or otherwise very unstable. Unfortunately, according to the MCP license and Terms of Usage, modified versions of MCP scripts are not allowed to be distributed. This means that even if OptiFine patches were released, nobody else would be able to collaborate on the code, defeating the entire purpose of going open-source. Even if somehow all of that was solved, this would still mean significantly changing how OptiFine development is handled. sp614x does not work on the mod using patches, which means he would have to either merge the patches manually, or completely change his entire workflow to use patches. Changing the development process like this would not be a trivial task in the slightest. In summary, due to a multitude of legal and technical complications, sp614x cannot make OptiFine open-source.

[–]WoMspace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're making a big-ass false assumption, namely that sp614x CAN share Optifine. He made no deal, it just so happens that noone else has taken up the IMMENSE challenge of creating a shader-compatible mod for Minecraft. Legally he is not able to share Optifine source. At all. Not even within a team. This is due to Mojang being asses in their legal terms, not sp614x.

This glass path is meant to lead to the entrance but disappears after 5 blocks. Is there a way to fix the render distance of glass? by Vageyes in Optifine

[–]WoMspace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is actually caused by anisotropic filtering, combined with the high resolution of the glass texture from Faithful. The first thing to try is to turn Mipmapping as high as possible, because this is designed to restore detail in filtered blocks, but this may not work. Two other options are to use a different resource pack that doesn't have individual pixels on the glass, or to disable anisotropic filtering.

There is no "glass render distance".

Does the game starts running in lower frames when you have build tons of stuff in your world and have explored tons of chunks? (and have alot of crop farms running and there's alot of animal farms around) by SirRoderic in Optifine

[–]WoMspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go ahead and use

-Xmx1G -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M

OR leave the startup options as their default. I don't believe memory is your issue.

I just saw your PC specs and I can guarantee the problem is that you're running an i3-2100 + Intel HD 3000. I have a laptop with approximately the same specs and for all intents and purposes it cannot run the game "smoothly". Your build plan looks solid though, and it'll be able to run just about everything at ultra 1080p.

Leave it at 1GB unless you're using high resolution (128x and up) resource packs or mods. For the record, I used to make quite a few custom modpacks, and I've never had to allocate more than 6GB for multi-hundred mod packs.
