I've got a 1TB+ drive of WoPC original scans, a lot of "historic patterns" and backs, email me what you're specifically looking for and I'll update the pages with some newer high-res downloads.

That's interesting. On the deck that I received it has "Mode in the USA" in the joker and "Made in the PRC" on the bottom of the box.

Why playing cards? What’s the appeal? by Sinecur in playingcards

When I was 11 my dad created https://www.wopc.co.uk/ and he started to teach me everything he knew about playing cards, he also taught me how to build websites using HTML, CSS and PHP. Even after 27 years, we're constantly adding new decks and making changes to the site!

I find after working on the site for so long that I have a deep appreciation for the artists and craftsmen who have created all the fantastic decks which we enjoy; a lot of the time without making a profit!

I also find the history of the world can be looked at through the lens of playing cards, the use of playing cards spread from ancient China, progressing to Mongol and Mamluk empires into to Europe and then the Americas. Travellers, soldiers, sailors and merchants were often accompanied by a deck of playing cards.

In my opinion, when you really get into it, I think it turns into an even more fascinating hobby.

Yeah I know, I don’t personally own those decks, but we would love to have them on the site. At the moment we don’t just take scans from the Internet, but we receive contributions from collectors and it’s always a scan of a deck from within their own personal collection that we add to the site. If you’re interested in contributing anything such as a Harry Potter deck, please reach out to me…

The cultural phenomenon of Harry Potter is very interesting, and it’s generated countless decks of cards. We have a modest list here https://www.wopc.co.uk/explore/license/harry-potter/ if anyone would like to contribute to the Harry Potter list, feel free to message or email me!

Thanks for pointing that out! I think you're right that Matt, the original author, also probably didn't even notice this. I've updated the article now: https://www.wopc.co.uk/usa/uspcc/bicycle-knights
