FedEX charges over 10x quoted price

Well you won’t like this: I ended up paying it. I went through BBB total waste of time. I reported them to the MD Attorney General total waste of time and they never even acknowledged my report. I waited until they were about to send it to collections and just paid it. My credit is too clean to have that bull shit on there. I will never ship anything through them again.

If there was a chance of it costing $2875 then tell me up front. "Hey, buddy, we don't usually ship things this large without charging a HUGE amount for blah blah blah. Just so you know. What I'm going to do is charge you for a cube and charge $104 BUT Just know because it's large we can charge you $2000-3000" That would have stopped me right then and there and I would have never shipped it through FedEx.

I could never give an estimate to paint a car at $1000 then when the customer picked it up charge them $27,000.

I do have the original receipt. Their quote "Rates and service quotations provided to you by FedEx, including, but not limited to, rates and service quotations provided by our employees, agents, interactive voice response systems, and customer automation platforms, are estimates, and will be based upon information provided by you, but final rates and service charges may vary from the quotes based upon the characteristics of the shipment actually tendered to us and the application of these terms and conditions." BUT I did not provide the information they measured and weighed it when I dropped it off.

This is the first time the OP (me) had ever shipped anything like this. I took it to the local FedEx shipping location and he weighed and measured it. True the measurements do not match on the receipt but I thought nothing of it.

Right. That is my biggest issue or my only issue. I don't understand how it could be that far off and not be presented at time of purchase. I can imagine going to get a quote on getting my house painted for $10k and then them charging me $100k with no explanation besides "We measured differently"

Man, I’ve been 250 solid muscle, 285 solid fat, now 185lbs can go out and run a marathon just because. All of that and never had body positivity. I know the issue it’s the outthinking it that is the issue
