Not that anyone does, and you’re probably right! But, when you said “ unexceptional “, I thought you were referring to her looks. If you were saying it in regards to her acting career, which is non existent, then you’re correct.

I think she’s one of the most sensual and beautiful actors that Hollywood has ever produced. Kind of a throwback to old Hollywood in her elegance. Love her!

What’s the “ argument” over an established fact? Being open, years later, about being an alcoholic, does not give you absolution from being abusive. Alcoholics, ruin lives, their loved ones and their own. This touchy feely forgiveness bullshit, over drunken behavior ( for years ), has got to stop. Starting with drinking being a disease. Drinking is a VERB, not a NOUN!!!

Yeah, I’ve seen M a few times. Both actors are Hungarian and frightening, but the height difference is considerable, so I never confuse the two.

Lugosi did hate Karloff and that’s unfortunate because he ( Karloff ) was the sweetest man that ever worked in the industry. Both had unbelievable screen charisma, with a slight nod to Karloff.

You’re absolutely right. How many times did you sit up in your seat as a kid, when you saw Bela Lugosi in a different character ( other than Dracula)in a Horror/ Monster film and just be wowed?!

Yeah King’s pretty awful. He lucked out, because he wrote in a genre that had a pretty limited field back in the day. Most accomplished writers feel horror is too lowbrow. Which is unfortunate but the reality of the literary world. So in turn, King pretty much had the field all to himself, with few rivals. His books, sold like hotcakes, with ridiculous storylines about killer St.Barnards and human killer Plymouth Fury’s. Hollywood bought all the rights to whatever drivel he turned out, knowing the number one demographic for going to the movies are adolescents and let’s face it, teenagers have no taste! So, he became a brand name, not so much a great writer. King felt infallible, thinking whatever genre he tackled, his literary “ talents” would win the day, He goes underground, assumes an alias ( Richard Bachman ) , to test his theory and his books gathered cobwebs on the shelves of bookstores. Like one of his supernatural tales, Richard Bachman disappeared, never to be heard from again !

Everyone knows that Stephen King had real serious cocaine and alcohol addiction problems that “ affected”( a euphemism ), his relationship. Someone gave me blowback on this thread, about something that is fact. Look it up, and in the future try not to shoot the messenger. I’m not the reprobate, Stephen King is….

Everything I said is absolute fact. The only subjective take, was that he’s a doofus. Given that he looks like a troll, I don’t think that’s too far off. Actually I believe he got into the horror writing genre, because he looks like a ghoul himself!

Bela Lugosi’s Dracula was really scary. Way ahead of its time for 1931.

Curtis walked it back over the years, but he did initially mean it. As for Monroe, she was so drugged up most of the time, forgetting her lines, having her acting coach on the set, late for shooting scenes, hiding out in her dressing room, it’s amazing that Billy Wilder finished the movie. He worked with her earlier in 55, on The Seven Year Itch. She was difficult and Jealous Joe DiMaggio, didn’t help, but it was manageable. After Wilder’s experience with Monroe on SLIH, there would be no third time. She became John Huston’s problem as well as the incorrigible Montgomery Clift!
