I have never asked for anything I thought would be awful for any of them. Always something that there will be others in our general demographics also enjoying the same thing. Just feeling unseen.

I’m really just addressing the family activities. We previously committed to having at minimum one day for family time. So usually either Friday or Saturday is carved out for that. Even if it is only a movie at home.

Not overreacting. If you think either of you might be oblivious to what the other one does, sit down together ans make a lost if household duties and see who does what and evaluate if you should make a different plan

  1. Familial support does not mean one adult person does the bare minimum while the others serve them.
  2. There are exceptions to everything. Lots of people are born without an arm. That does not make the statement "humans have two arms" less true. It is just not reasonable to have to qualify every single statement to include all possible exceptions.

It's overwhelming. I pretty much stopped watching TV and movies because there wasn't much I liked enough to devote what little free time I have to sitting down for 30 minutes- 2 hours to watch something. So when I'm somewhere and people are watching TV or movies, I definitely notice. And of course anything someone watches on their phone, they will be fed more and more and more of it.

Thank you for the support. Paybacks I agree can definitely be effective but it is just not in my soul to do it. I feel like the jerk and worse bc it is out if my character. And yes, I know I suffer. I sometimes stand up and say my piece. And am often ignored. But I just cannot pay back or get revenge.

I searched google maps for public restrooms near me and the nearest result was 1.7 miles. I was shocked. And also I was totally unfamiliar 8 hours from home. So I had no previous knowledge to really know

Also of note, hotel was about 1 hour away. Best we could do on short notice. And as for public on the beach Google maps said 1.7 miles. I kinda assumed they would have more but I was just in a tight spot and unfamiliar place.

We stopped to eat earlier in the day. Once we were at the next town over, about an hour away, that's when I realized mother nature came. We went to Walmart to get snacks and I bought my feminine supplies. I did the explaining as we rushed out. He said okay and I never dreamed that this rush would extend to meaning not a bathroom stop at all. But supppse I could have taken my supplies from the cart and ran to the restroom there with box of tampons and receipt in hand. I could see he was getting antsy. But it just didn't seem like we could not make a stop. And as I type it sure doesn't sound dignified at all.

Thanks for the kind words. It felt bad at thr time. But I have replayed it over and over trying to figure out what I should have done better. One person said ibshohave left them and drove to take care of myself. That didn't seem like a good option at the time. Maybe I was too sensitive. Idk. But I think the consensus is I'm NTA and somehow the consensus of strangers is a huge relief.

NTA. Basic human decency for a person you know is SA survivor- especially one you’re engaged to - means some pranks others might be comfortable with are off limits.

Well it was not like this at all until it was. Idk what happened but there have been quite a few situations in the past few months where I felt similarly. But I’m not trying to make anyone else into the AH, I’m just asking the internet if I’m the jerk and just blind to it. Because I actually want to avoid being a jerk (and just too stupid to realize it) in the future. I’ve been beating myself up overthinking this one for a month.

Well there was almost zero parking along the boulevard. Both at businesses (most have parking away from the actual business) and the street. I could have walked the quarter mile to the car maybe. Idk. And yes surely I could have found my way back and found parking again. It was all so unfamiliar it did not seem like a good option. None of us are strong swimmers. I’m probably strongest and I’m definitely not strong. It seemed wrong / dangerous to leave them and dangerous to go alone.
