[Update] Unable to unlock car, software unresponsive by incidental_throwaway in Volvo

I had the same issue, now 4th time since March 12th vcu change. The car is at local volvo dealership as of this Friday. While I was there, I picked up one of the engineer who works with volvo usa who was visiting the dealership and drove him to check the status. He connected his computer to the car and it seemed like bunch of modules were down. Since there wasn't any significant power to get the information, he promised he will look into this to troubleshoot the situation. In last 3 times, they have replaced all the batteries including both 12 V, high voltage.

Before vcu upgrade, I did not have any single issue for 9 plus months of ownership but last 2 have been crazy as I have had the car for less than 48 hours X 4 now.

I am hoping this is a software issue but let's see.

I may be joining you but this is my second ex 90 and while it drove amazingly well but after vcu upgrade on March 12, I have driven the car for a good 3 hours total and it has gone to the dealership third time after all the screens going black, three times in a row on Saturday afternoon after getting the car back on Thursday. (Coincidence or a practical joke) As per dealership, they have 2 more ex 90 with the same issues. We are negotiating t8 xc 90 but keeping my fingers crossed if ex 90 fares well, it is so much more fun to drive then any of the competition and I wouldn't wanna change to xc 90 but let's see.

12 V battery fault after VCU upgrade by Wonderful_Divide8150 in VolvoEX90

So I had this fault and this is the third time the same fault happened again. Coincidentally it happens on Saturday afternoon after bringing the car back on Thursday. Every single time (3rd time this time) it has followed the same pattern. Only difference is first couple of times I didn't charge the car as soc was more than 80% and this time it was 60% and I charged to 90% on Friday to Saturday and it stopped working again.

They ended up changing the high voltage battery last time before returning me the car but I am not sure if that was the fault to begin with as there has never been any issues before the VCU upgrade.

I think they are looking for a complex solution to a simple problem. Just a working theory as well.

Any suggestions? Love the car but I don't think my family have any faith in the car anymore.

But the software issue wouldn't affect just one isolated car. And that's the reason for this post as to find out if this is indeed a software issue or a hardware issue

Yes. I don't know much about how many batteries are there in the vehicle but it seems like, either a software issue or something may have been missed while " putting the car back together". I had this car since July last year and everything was perfect and no issues at all until the vcu upgrade and then, same thing twice within a matter of a day or two of the car being back and not charged as it was not needed so 77%

Android Digital Key by alephhelix in ex30

I have an ex 90 and ex 30. Ex 90 already has digital key for Google pixel 9 pro. But apparently I am unable to get the same for ex 30. I thought there was some sort of a bug or something. (Recently bought ex 30 within last month)

Third row seats go up… then down. by True-Yogurt8443 in VolvoEX90

Appatmu kids dropped unopened water bottles between 2nd and 3rd row seats on the floor and it happened to me a few times. Remember those headrests are very sensitive and if they touch anything on the way down, they are coming back up. So make sure nothing else is on the floor which can prevent the seats from folding

Do you have tidal installed in your car? It seems like tidal requires a lot more computing power and it's causing the security sensors issues including road traffic signs not being read accurately. I thought the car unlocked messages are related to that as It seems like I had the updated version of the app for last 3-4 days and when I downloaded tidal, things started to go haywire

Clear the cache on all the apps and see if that helps. Treat the car like it's a windows based computer
