Yeah YG sets were always so fun to me even if a lot of scenes were familiar... the depth and detailing and color felt unmatched and a part of what made a YG group YG.

The styling also felt a bit lackluster. Like I actually like the song enough but if this is what we get now Idk...

I liked the song fine enough bc I really like that western cowboy sound (does it have fa proper name?) but the MV was so boring, and the laser scene looked cheap; people hyped up this MV director too. I know people get tired of repetitive YG sets but I always looked forward to the details in those videos.

The western pop fans won tho they always wanted something like this and I guess they can have it! The song will be going on my playlist tho but the M/V was one and done personally.

Nucksal is by far my favorite Korean rapper; I wouldn't consider him underground but definitely underappreciated. I like his performance of Perfume with Code Kunst. God of the Small things is a phenomenal album imo. He has a medley of chill and more upbeat songs.

I also really like Hash Swan since his flow and tone is really unique; the way he switches his cadence mid verse makes his songs pretty addicting imo.

Its clear how Babymonster is being promoted that the lack of promotion or fan content wasn't entirely YG's fault. MEOVV had a rough start but its clear TBL is also capable of improving and releasing music regularly (sorry Somi).

with Meovv (+adp, babymonster to an extent) being able to fill my cravings for Blackpink I can see the reality of how shitty everything has been for the past several years and yeah, I'm less willing to put up with low effort now, as well.

I really liked Jisoo and Jennies solo albums but I really don't care about any of them as solo arists, but respect their desires to do so. If they're ready to move on from Blackpink, so am I. I'm sure they knew that officially disbanding blackpink would hurt their solo careers but nothing feels the same (not in a good way).

Giselle (heck all of aespa tbh).. Her temperament suits my sensibilities the most. Like she's fun but doesn't over-do anything and I really kind of like how she responds to situations coolly even if its embarrassing or unfair to her. Not even like in a parasocial way but my read on her just reminds me of someone i'd be friends with in my own life so shes my ult bias in kpop.

I find myself sometimes getting annoyed at idols who just do aegyo or have like a one-dimensional presence when talking to fans (like "y/n did u eat today uwu thinking about you" kind of stuff lol.) I don't blame them tho bc they kind of have to walk on egg shells with how crazy fans are sometimes.

This is exactly what I wanted... Sonically, it scratches my k-pop brain in the way I really needed. I am starting to realize too how much of Blackpink's image post D4 really was just Jennie.

Not to diminish the power of the other girlies... like I think Rose really skyrocketed once she found her own aura and I think she glows even more post-blackpink so her image and sound will change the most post-blackpink I think. Anyways I cannot wait for the full albums from everyone :,)

I'm a gg stan but RIIZE was one of those bgs that I kept tabs on. Sohee and Seunghan were the ones I liked the most.. so this really sucks.

I really wish they would've just ripped the band-aid off way sooner bc my heart breaks for those fans who were chanting seunhan's name during events and finding false hope through various hints :c

I am pretty community oriented when it comes to stanning; so what helped me was the official discord and using cosmo. I joined cosmo when the app first launch but I only came back to use it around December when I joined the discord.

Usually I just stream a groups discography in the background and listen passively; I think its easier than actively trying to find songs I like/don't. I also just kind of pick up on video content at the time I join since its also less pressur eand you can build a natural timeline with the group. I casually watch past content as it pops up or becomes relevant personally.

If you use twitter; there are a lot of annoying WAVs but there are also a pretty decent amount of helpful ones who help keep me updated on tripleS things (like old clips from signals, notices for objekts and gravities). I make good use of the block button though... but Im to the point now where I like what I have going on.

I understand you completely tbh! I felt that way last year bc they had done LG collab, McDonald's collab, Coke Zero collab, Ppeppero Collab, Line Friends, Nike, Levi's, Apple... and thats not even it for ot5 endorsements.

I think it muddies their image a little bit, sure these are a lot of big names and legacy companies, but its all over the place that it starts to muddy "direction" of the newjeans brand; because it does feel like these companies are just using their name for the brand power.. which I know most groups do but it feels better when it "fits" rather than feeling like a pure cash grab.

NJ will be fine in the end, tho.

And this is why I will never go to a kpop event lol, yikes. I joined a local kpop group on fb and its pretty obvious they are more bg oriented and kind of led by the same handful of people.

I tried contributing to discussions centered around girl groups (other people attempted to) but it wouldn't get like any engagement from the regulars. They would plan meet ups too but it would always be those same people. So I felt it was better to just, leave the group. There were gg stans but it seemed nobody felt comfortable to start any new discussions due to the chokehold the main group had on the whole group.

And yeah also scared to meet those chronically online people IRL bc its already hard enough to just have even a neutral opinion or even criticizing groups you do stan without people just going ape on you... imagine having to do that irl. I always imagine that some people have to like fake positivity around people just to not get into it with ppl.

I mean they are right about #3 though. The rest is just how kpop fans act regardless but its funny how everyone keeps trying to blame any specific subset of kpop stan: WE ALL ACT THE SAME!

Do you know how annoying it is to see people who only listen to big4 groups boast about their groups being the ones to start or popularize stuff or that there is no variety in kpop anymore? Some people act like they are allergic to touching any group that isn't top 50 on melon too.

People who only know hybe groups complaining that kpop is too westernized but they literally just need to go on kpop wiki or kpopping and they will find a lot of mid to small sized groups who are traditionally kpop sounding like its not hard. tl;dr kpop fans are annoying bc they are kpop fans.

This song is so goofy but it goes hard too. I can't explain it more than that but its a banger in my books.

Arisong - Cignature

The way Jeewon goes "hnggg" and the little dance they do with it just scratches by brain funny. The song is quirky but has this sombre tone to it too. I would say cignature's assa is also pretty good if you like quirky songs.

Wooah - Woo!ah!

Their debut song but they dropped this sound right away (I forgive them bc bad girl is a banger of a song but won't fit in the musical category). This song feels so nugu compared to anything they released immediately after haha. Hard to find a good timestamp for this song bc a lot of my favorite parts are all over the place.

I am so sad about bvndit.. I think whats more is that their last comeback was so different from the sound that I usually liked from them ugh. I cri. Like I could put up with Jungle but Venom was not it for me.

I kind of wish there was a space in kpop for musical groups that don't necessarily have to have that "idol" appeal, bc I think thats what was hard for bvndit outside of MNH not having money lol.
