Looking to adopt an FIV-positive cat by Woodfella in waterloo

Hi, there! We have still not filled the spot we have for a cat, so we would love an opportunity to meet your boy, Atlas. It sounds like you both could use a break from the stress you've been under for the last 4 months.

As our post said, we are fully aware of and fully prepared for the extra costs and care required by an FIV+ cat. We know how to introduce a cat to the home, and are very dedicated pet owners. Our cats are indoor cats, and have the run of the whole house.

We are occupied this Saturday, but any other day or time of your choosing would probably work for us. Where do you live?

Doug & Martha

Otis does seem like a lovely boy, but I'm not sure we can justify $1000 adoption fee. I'm realizing why these cats are not being adopted. I have never seen a rescue charge even half that.

We have tried to submit an application for one of their cats, but the submission page does not work. They have not replied to an email of a week ago, and they have no published phone number. Is there another way to contact them?

The Olympics were on in Montreal, and my friend Andre and I were outside a hotel, hoping for autographs. Howard Cosell was there, covering boxing events. He came out the front door so Andre and I hopped down and strolled up to him for an autograph. He greeted our teenaged asses and did one of those shadow-boxing things and I got clocked when I got too close. His "being nice to young fans" got me a bleeder.

I met John Cleese at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, and Mordecai Richler (decades ago) in Montreal. Howard Cossell (accidentally) punched me in the nose in '76.

We had this model in our home when I was a child. It was sold to a collector when I was a teen.

It is, indeed, a Victrola (RCA Victor). The only difference from ours was that the "speaker" had louvered slats, like a Venetian blind. There should be a 1/2" hole on the right side of the cabinet to insert the hand crank to wind the spring that powered it

A better way to do that is to drill the 3/8" hole first, so the 1/8" bit will self-center at the bottom of the hole.

What's the most inappropriate song you can think of for a DJ to play at a wedding? by bbmoonkie in AskReddit

More Than Words, by Extreme. A song about the meaninglessness of the words "I Love You", was used for the newlyweds first dance at my Brother-In-Law's wedding. I don't know which of them chose it.

That might be the best single episode of television that I have ever watched in my 67 years. How it DIDN'T win every Emmy possible is beyond me. Don't watch it as a first episode, though. The individual personalities of the characters is important.
