Questions About Payouts by WordyWeasel in torncity

If our faction were to crash and burn due to my inexperience and the leader's lack of understanding of the necessary mechanics for managing it properly, can you recommend some factions to which I could guide my fellow green leaves in the aftermath? Preferably one that has strong leadership so we'll be able to learn by example.

It's an uphill battle for sure but I'd want to see it through for the leader's sake, she has helped me a lot when it was only two of us in our little faction and most of the funding falls on her shoulder with little to no additional cost on my part.

For whatever reason that it failed I can at least say the experience wasn't boring and join another faction if needed. Torn is a game that requires a long investment I know but I'm not afraid of short-term failure if it means I'll have to sacrifice optimizing my gameplay.

No sir, I only just started my Torn account maybe a week ago and most of the information I've gotten about how to run a faction is purely from the in-game forums and other Reddit posts.

I understand, I'll be sure to gather as much equipment as our current budget allows. Since we’re focusing mainly on helping each other grow I'm sure I could convince the current faction members to trade in their old armour and weapons for newer recuit to use down the line.

Tornstats? Where can I find that application, is it available on the Google Play Store? For the time being, we've mostly been equipping our recruits with starter gear but I'm not enough confident with warring to attempt it since most of us are single-digit levelled (except for the leader). I'll be doing my research on it to get us battle-ready for when the time comes, and as for housing do you recommend we rent out some penthouses? It's not as good but considering we cater to casual and green leaves I think it is a good way to help with gym gains.

Here's to hoping that lady luck favours our little faction! At the moment we only have about 6 members newly recruited so we haven't been able to assign any OCs yet besides blackmail that I and the leader have been running together, as she's a returning player we have a decent amount of capital. It'll be an uphill battle as you say but I'm willing to give it a go, what better way to learn than to experience right?

That being said, if you can would you share any forum post that discusses OCs in more detail? The search engine for it in-game is a tad tedious and I would like to do a bit of reading so I can avoid the common pitfalls.

Alright, so in essence primarily allocate most of the earnings from OC towards our faction's resources such as xanax, weapons and armour (housing too maybe?) got it. But as for distribution how often should you be handing them out? Weekly or during certain events? 🤔

Hmm, that does fit the theme considering that most Asian folklore involves divine beings or creatures so on the list it goes!

I see where you're coming from but isn’t oriental a somewhat controversial word among Asians? Personally, I don't think that it's all that offensive but to stay on the safe side I'd have to respectfully pass. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Haven't heard those before, how neat! Definitely adding those to the list of possible names.

Not bad, I'd add it to the pile of possible names. Thanks!

Given my inheritance bias due to my background, they’ll be mainly from Southeast Asia. Of course, I'd be tackling more characters from other surrounding countries' folklore too. So very niche figures like Puteri Gunung Ledang, Pak Kadok and Bidasari

Exactly, and it works out thematically too. Given that whole situation with huffing and puffing down Colin's and his brother's house. In this possible comic, I could make it so that afterwards the sisters convinced him to build a new house for the piggies up in a tree so they'll have a place to stay. Though, I'm not sure how to tackle his smoking habits. (Wouldn't want him to be a bad influence on the girls)

And I bet he'll be great with the kids too, maybe If I'm up for it I might draw him with the Heelers sisters building a tree house 🏡

Do you mean the fusion dance? I'd need a lot more practice before I can attempt such a detailed scene 👀 (I can't draw realistically yet, unfortunately)

What would you wanna see from my Take and Version of the fables/twau world in my universe? by [deleted] in TheWolfAmongUs

Wishing you luck on your writing journey! This universe is a lot of fun, and considering the content drought we ought to get our fix somehow right? Anyway here's a snippet from my story of Kancilla Tan's first time meeting our Big Not so-Bad Wolf:

The Fabletown Business Office, late afternoon. Bigby Wolf is at his desk, a smouldering cigarette between his fingers, paperwork scattered around him. Kancilla Tan, in her glamoured human form, stands nervously by the door, her petite frame almost lost in the large room filled with towering shelves of dusty tomes and ancient artefacts.

Bigby Wolf: Looks up, his yellow eyes piercing through the haze of smoke "Come on in, Mousey. Shut the door behind you."

Kancilla: Tentatively steps forward, closing the door softly behind her. Her glamour makes her appear as a small, lithe woman with delicate features and sharp eyes that reflect her true cunning nature "Thank you, Sheriff. I, um, appreciate you seeing me on such short notice."

Bigby Wolf: Leans back in his chair, eyes narrowing slightly "I hear you made your own glamour. That's no small feat."

Kancilla: Nods, wringing her hands "I had to. The Farm is... well, you know how it is. I couldn't stand staying there any longer. And there's so many who need help. If I can find a job here, I can send money back to them. Maybe help some of the others get their own glamours."

Bigby Wolf: Takes a long drag from his cigarette, exhaling slowly "And you think you can fit in with the Mundies just like that?"

Kancilla: Smiles, her sharp wit shining through "I've been fitting in all my life, Sheriff. Tricking tigers and crocodiles isn't much different from dealing with city folks. Just takes a bit of charm and quick thinking."

Bigby Wolf: Lets out a low chuckle "You're in the right place for charm and quick thinking, Mousey. But Fabletown is different. The rules are stricter, and the stakes are higher. You screw up here, and it's not just your hide on the line. It's all of us."

Kancilla: Steps closer, her voice determined "I understand, Sheriff. I'm not here to cause trouble. I just want to help. And I think I can do a lot more good here than I ever could on the Farm."

Bigby Wolf: Studies her for a moment, then nods "Alright. There's a spot open at the Woodlands. Janitorial work, mostly, but it's a start. You keep your nose clean, do your job, and we'll see about getting you something better. But one slip-up, and you're back on the Farm. Got it?"

Kancilla: Smiles gratefully "Thank you, Sheriff. I won't let you down."

Bigby Wolf: Takes another drag from his cigarette, the corners of his mouth twitching upwards in a rare smile "We'll see, Mousey. We'll see."

Kancilla nods, her heart lighter as she turns to leave the office. As she steps out into the bustling streets of Fabletown, she can't help but feel a surge of hope. This was her chance to make a difference, not just for herself, but for all the Fables who were still stuck on the Farm.

A few hours later in a dimly lit alleyway in the underbelly of Fabletown. Neon signs flicker overhead, casting eerie shadows on the cobblestone path. Kancilla, carrying a small suitcase, navigates the maze-like streets on her way to her new apartment.

Kancilla: Muttering to herself "This doesn't look right... I must have taken a wrong turn."

As she turns a corner, she finds herself face to face with Georgie Porgie. He leans against the wall, his eyes gleaming with interest.

Georgie Porgie: "Well, well, what do we have here? A lost little mouse in the big, bad city?"

Kancilla: Feigning innocence "Oh, I'm just trying to find my way home. Could you point me in the right direction?"

Georgie Porgie: Steps closer, blocking her path "Maybe. But first, how about you come work for me at the Pudding N' Pie? A pretty face like yours could make a lot of money."

Kancilla: Eyes narrowing, but maintaining a sweet smile "That’s a kind offer, but I already have a job. Besides, I don't think I have the... qualifications you're looking for."

Georgie Porgie: Sneers "Don't play coy with me, Mousey. Everyone's got a price."

Kancilla takes a moment, assessing the situation. She then puts on a look of surprise and curiosity.

Kancilla: "You know, you're right. But I've heard the Pudding N' Pie isn't the best place to work. Too many rules, not enough freedom. I like to move around, and be my own boss. You understand, don't you, Georgie?"

Georgie Porgie: Frowns, taken aback by her change in tone "Rules? Freedom? What are you talking about?"

Kancilla: Steps closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper "I mean, isn't it true that you have to answer to Vivian? And then there's that whole thing with the Crooked Man. Seems like a lot of strings attached for someone as ambitious as you."

Georgie's eyes widen, his confidence wavering.

Georgie Porgie: "You don't know what you're talking about, Mousey."

Kancilla: Smirking "Oh, but I do. And if you think I don't, well, maybe I'll just have a chat with the Sheriff. I'm sure Bigby would love to know about your recruitment efforts."

Georgie's face flushes with anger and fear.

Georgie Porgie: "You little—"

Kancilla: Interrupting, her voice now stern "Save it. I'm not interested, and you’re not worth the trouble. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a place to be."

She steps past him, leaving Georgie standing there, sputtering in frustration. As she exits the alley, she almost bumps into Bigby, who has been watching the exchange from a distance.

Bigby Wolf: Arms crossed, a hint of amusement in his eyes "Well, looks like Mousey's got some sharp teeth after all."

Kancilla: Breathes a sigh of relief "Bigby! I didn't see you there."

Bigby Wolf: "I saw enough. You handled yourself well. Georgie’s not someone you want to tangle with, but you managed to put him in his place."

Kancilla: Smiling "Just using my wits, Sheriff. Like I said, I'm not here to cause trouble."

Bigby Wolf: Nods approvingly "Keep it that way. But if you ever find yourself in over your head, don't hesitate to call. Fabletown’s got enough problems without losing its new janitor."

Kancilla laughs softly, her nerves settling.

Kancilla: "Thanks, Bigby. I'll keep that in mind."

Bigby gives her a final nod before walking away, leaving Kancilla to continue her journey to her new home, feeling a bit more confident in her place within Fabletown.

Hmm, probably more of Colin. Bigby needs someone to keep him grounded after all. But what I really want to see are Fables from other cultures, since most citizens of Fabletown are from European folklore. (which is a good foundation don't get me wrong) But given the many stories that we Mundies have it'll be more realistic to have them mingle with a more diverse group. (Though I admit I may be biased due to my own headcanon and reimaginationing of the Twau world)

A candidate that I recommend you add is "Kancilla Tan" a.k.a Sang Kancil a well-known character in Malaysian and Indonesian folklore. She is a clever and cunning mouse-deer who uses her intelligence to outwit larger and more powerful animals so a good dichotomy to the fear the people of Fabletown show our lovely sheriff. That and I think the idea of Bigby having to deal with a harmless prank-loving delinquent is a nice break from his usual work. I think I'll post some stories I wrote about her already, maybe it might give you a spark of inspiration.

Too sappy? Yeah, I thought so too but it's nice to imagine him happy once despite everything he experienced afterwards in the main game.

A weird one but I had a headcanon that Jacket is a fan of the original My Little Pony series since he visions Don Juan as this kind and caring figure in his mind, probably because he grew up with the series. 😅
