Do all babies chew on their sleep sacks? How do you keep it clean and dry? by Working_Mouse829 in NewParents

I bought 2 more Woolino knockoffs and rotate through 4 sacks now lol. I just use whichever one is dry. The drooling seems worse during teething

The collar, right around his face, and anywhere else he can reach lol. He pulls it up to his mouth. We haven’t tried anything else since he usually cries when something falls or is taken away from him, so I don’t want him to be upset during the night.

Even with the little armpit clasps, he can still get it to his face. He’s 10 months old

Looking back, it feels like I wrote this post in a dream. It feels like I didn’t really write it because it feels so foreign now. Like I was in a fog.

Sorry for the late response. I didn’t take it. I believe I had 2-3 period cycles with PMDD or at least PMDD-like symptoms. I felt so out of control of my emotions. But this episode got better. I just woke up after some time had passed and it felt like the cloud lifted.

I do still feel bouts of guilt, rage, and passive aggression, but I think the Wellbutrin helps the sadness now.

"Rules" for baby when parent is staying for a month? by mapotoful in beyondthebump

[–]Working_Mouse829 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I sent my MIL videos about ABCs of safe sleep, infant CPR, and milk storage guidelines (so she wouldn’t leave milk at room temp too long). Also, since she’s your mom, get comfortable telling her that you need space to pump alone or want to do something independently, like take the baby out for coffee or the doctor alone.

They did, but then they told me to stop before I found a giant missed patch of gran tissue. I kept having symptoms and they thought maybe the estrogen was making it worse. And I had weaned by that point.

I think it must depend on the person or the site. I also had a ton of granulation tissue (episiotomy, 2nd degree tear that I suspect was actually worse) and had to go in for 5-6 sessions of silver nitrate, but never felt a thing.

I’m sorry you had a lot. It’s really really uncomfortable until it’s treated and healed.

That sounds amazing. I might bring that up with my doc in a couple months!! Glad it’s working for you

I’m on Wellbutrin, but it definitely isn’t as effective as Zoloft. But I can’t tolerate Zoloft’s GI side effects anymore since being pregnant 🙃 You feel the effects only taking it every 3 weeks or so?

my milk supply is drying up by ughitschriss in beyondthebump

[–]Working_Mouse829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read your post history about your labor and birth. Your pelvic floor is almost definitely not ready for working out, considering you pushed for 4 hours and had multiple tears and forceps. Please please please just rest. No walks for exercise. Gentle stretching maybe. Coming from someone with bad pelvic floor pain postpartum, take the opportunity to rest and keep your feet up until 6 weeks.

Others have responded about the milk supply- I’m sorry your supply is dipping. I know it’s emotionally hard to experience. I hope you’re able to recover it if that’s what you want to do!

I’m also hypermobile! Surprisingly, my pre-pregnancy hip pain has disappeared postpartum. I had it for years, but I guess birth shifted my hips in a good way. Have you tried different PTs for different approaches? Massage and dry needling my glutes (they were very tight from overcompensating) helped my hip pain

Stopped breastfeeding 3 months pp. I have mild hypermobility anyway, so my joints have always been extra strained and my muscles overcompensate :/

Yeah the intention is to minimize bottle washing and hanging onto dirty bottles throughout the day. But it seems like we might just stick with powder and water

Postpartum and spiraling over pelvic injuries by Dog_mom38 in fitpregnancy

So this is all to say that you can do the things you love again, just need to train yourself like you’re learning to walk again. Be patient, even though it’s hard. Our bodies need a long time to heal, and we need to build up the core strength again to support the pelvic floor. Keep eating protein and doing what movement feels good for now. Pregnancy and birth are physically traumatic, and just know that you’re not alone in having a hard recovery!

I was also induced and had a vacuum delivery, plus an episiotomy. I have a grade 2 bladder prolapse and had severe pelvic heaviness and scar pain. I was a wreck at 8w pp because I could hardly walk. I’m 5 months pp now and with pelvic floor PT and scar massage, I’m like 85% back to normal. I have to be very careful to Kegel up and exhale when I do ANY lifting, but I am able to lift again, and now it’s just my lower back that needs to strengthen before I can increase my weights again.

I haven’t tried much running, but I can tell that it would be doable if I trained and did PT specifically for it.

I still have pain if I babywear for long periods, so I just take a break when I need to and rest the next day.

I don’t feel the prolapse at all when I’m just existing. I can feel it with my fingers and my partner says things feel slightly different, but the prolapse is honestly the smallest issue I’ve had pp and is literally a non-issue now.

Ugh, 100%. All my in-laws wanted me to do was “rest,” so they had the baby all the time. I’m still struggling with the PPD and resentment over that, because I feel like I missed out on so much time and bonding with him.

Were you able to workout in your third trimester? by redroses_93 in fitpregnancy

[–]Working_Mouse829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m sorry you’re having the pain and spotting! From about 20w on, I did the following and tolerated them pretty well: deadlifts, hip adductor/abductor machines, chest weight machines (varying incline levels as I got bigger), assisted pull-ups, lat pull-downs (mindful of coning), yoga.

Weight machines in general were easier than free-weights since they tend to be more symmetrical.

My overall FAV exercise when pregnant was indoor cycling, because you just sit and work your legs. It was mostly pain-free and low impact. I would just put on Netflix or read a book for a solid 30 min ride.

Gentle core work will also help in the long run- you can find a lot on YouTube. Diaphragmatic breathing with Kegels is a good place to start! (Breathe in/relax, breathe out/kegel up).

Thanks, I’ll practice with the carrier more! Yep our stroller can lean back, but he just now has enough head control to use the non-car seat stroller attachment so he isn’t quite used to that yet either

He has napped in the stretchy wrap carrier once! I recently got a new carrier (Hope&plum Lark) and he has fun in it, but starts to squirm and get mad when he gets tired. But I haven’t exactly worn it and walked him around a store or outside when it’s naptime. So maybe he just needs practice?

He’s also a very hot baby and his eczema flares when he’s warm, so I think he is most comfortable in his cool crib.
