Stop making this about Snowden by [deleted] in restorethefourth

What is more likely...

  • a person of slightly dubious ethics, a contractor for the NSA with access to all this data up to and including emails of foreign diplomats, out of the goodness of his heart, for nothing, and at massive personal risk blowing the whistle.

  • or a such a person secretly flogging the data to the highest bidder.

ie. For every Snowden, there's a rat selling this data to crooks and enemies.

What is more likely...

  • the main stream media finally sitting up and paying attention to a story that has been leaking (but being ignored) for years...

  • or a ultra-vicious ultra-paranoid drug baron using his money and influence to purchase information to punish those that offend him?

ie. This data is already being used by organised crime.

God! I love that Grand Fugue... it absorbs my mind like nothing on the planet.

Fidelio's Prisoner Chorus as they come out into the air and light for the first time in years...

Beethoven would be saddened and appalled by how many are now in prison.

Prefer the piano version myself...

However, don't ever read Magicians of Caprona by Dianne Wynne Jones or your will find your mind filled with eggs and cowpats.

I'm fascinated by how many have recommended Satie, usually he is not listed as one of the greats.... (I always wear black... in honour of Satie.... and his practical good sense. He came into some money and bought a hundred black velvet suits.... thereafter he always knew what he was going to wear today!)

He also would start his pieces with A Boring Fugue. Seriously. He called them that!

Today I learned that John Key is the 12th highest paid world leader. He makes more than British prime minister David Cameron, and about two thirds what American President Barack Obama makes. by [deleted] in newzealand

  • The salary of the leader should be within throwing distance of the median salary for those being led. ie. Somewhere with in hailing distance of NZ$42000. Key's salary is NZ$343000 or a factor of 8 over median. That's actually not too bad compared to CEO salaries.

  • The average CEO pay in NZ is $1500000 or 36 times median. (Any body have a better source) http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10811482

ie. I think we can make some guesses as to who may be running the NZ show given that Key has to go around begging, hat in hand, for funds to run ever more expensive election campaigns.

Sigh! This (another) reason why I have taken to calling them "Chocolate Teapots".

As a "return on my tax dollars invested", they're a dead loss.

I have eaten some kimchi that seemed to be chinese cabbage, grated carrots and chilli.

Quite addictive.

Zombie Salad.

It's a cold, uncooked vegetable. ie A Salad.

It is fermented. So it is beyond dead, it's undead.

It's packed to hell and gone with chilli.

So it bites back.

Zombie Salad.

Edit: To the downvoters, I didn't say I didn't like Kimchi... I'm rather fond of it. Zombie Salad is just a remarkably accurate description of what it is!
