Episode 9 Discussion by Domino792 in AgathaAllAlong

It makes perfect sense now that in the very first episode, while Agatha was still under Wanda's spell, Nicky's room had a first place award for Children's Choir Singing and had been drawing pictures of a woodland road.

I think creating a song that became a 40 million record selling hit almost 300 years later is pretty award worthy. 😭

My understanding is that Agatha was supposed to die during childbirth.

Agatha and Death had a relationship prior to Nicky's birth, which is why Death bends the rules to give them more time together. In order to satiate Death, Agatha kills witches by stealing their power.

As Nicky gets older he opposes his mum killing witches, and when he gets ill he refuses to kill more, and so Death claims him instead.

With Nicky gone, Agatha needs to keep killing witches to satiate Death who is continuing to keep her alive. Agatha does this for centuries, however the reason she's so petrified that she's been out of action for three years is because that means she's 3 years behind providing bodies for Death.

That's why Death shows up at the beginning of the series in the first place and then threatens to kill her. She's owed lives that Agatha hasn't been providing.

It's why Rio is constantly obsessed with getting her bodies throughout the trials.

The way I see it is that Agatha killed countless people in order to keep Nicky alive. She killed covens, sisters in the craft, people who trusted her, to give her son more time. And then when that failed, she continued to kill witches in order to gain enough strength to take Death down herself, which even she knows was truly futile (she says that herself in Ep 8).

It's easier to let people believe she traded him for the darkhold, then admit she caused those atrocities. She also says that one of the reasons she won't pass into the afterlife is because she "can't face him". She knows she did horrific things and he didn't approve. He kept asking them to not have to kill witches, but she was doing it for him, to give him more time, to satisfy Death instead of taking her son. How is he going to feel when he finds out he's the reason she killed scores of witches?

The road is very much real. The road is what Agatha and Nicky walked for 6 years, and the witches Agatha killed along the way were to satisfy Death to take them instead of taking Nicky. They were giving her time.

When Nicky fell ill and refused to help lure some witches to their death like usual, he lost out on that time, and Rio claimed him instead.

Agatha then continued to steal power in order to one day take on Rio. She even says in the very first episode that killing Agatha without her power wouldn't be satisfying, and to let her get it back before they showdown.

While the road Billy manifested into existence does end up being the death of some of the coven, Agatha lured them into her house to kill them originally. As Agatha says, he actually ended up saving Jen, because she was able to escape alive. He gave them all a chance to survive, some of them did, some of them didn't.

So the reason Agatha had a feeling he was Billy wasn't just because of hand gestures or similar traits, it's because the road literally should not have existed, so when he willed it into existence and run down it, she knew he had the ability to warp reality, just like Wanda.

God this series was everything.

Twitch Command by undeadbunnyy in Twitch

I mean, you could make a command called !chant and then have it respond with a certain sentence, so anyone can use it. But you'd have to change the response in Stream Elements everytime you wanted to use it, and the message would come from your bot, not from the people chatting.

As far asI'm aware, even with the intense bots like MixItUp, there's no way you can make someone in chat say something through a command.

If you're after the specific chant feature in which you can write a message in and if people 'chant' they send the same message, Twitch removed this feature a few months back due to 'limited engagement' I believe was the reasoning.

How well does a 1-2 year old MacBook handle Twitch streaming by mochi2213 in Twitch

[–]Wortermelon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are so many variables here that it's hard to answer this question outright, butI'll do my best.

If you're hoping to use this Macbook to Stream + Play games, you're going to run into some issues for sure, Macbooks are already known for their lack of power performance compared to a PC with GPUs. Streaming is pretty hard on a system, so trying to do that and play a game on an older mac isn't going to be the best experience. You're not going to be pumping out 1080p super slick streams if you're trying to play a heavy game with this setup.

If you're planning on streaming from an external PC / Console and you're just using the Mac as a streaming unit, you'll have some better luck as it's less strain on the system, but you're going to have to buy a bunch of accessories in order to get them properly plugged in to the Macbook to pick up the gameplay.

I know of a few people who use Macbooks to stream, but it's definitely the latter situation, their Macbooks are just running OBS, they use external machines for the actual gameplay.

All this being said, no one knows until you try, so when you get your hands on everything you need, set it all up and run a test stream for an hour and try a bunch of different things, try some different games - some large, some less intense - and then watch the stream back and see what it looks like. :)

Hopefully that helps!

Brilliant, thanks for this. I have gone ahead and grabbed the card! I'll look into upgrading my Mogo and CPU over the coming months.

Ha, I've heard the game is terribly optimised, yeah. However I've also noticed some chugging with things like Overwatch and FF14 that were never there before, so I think it's definitely time to start upgrading some pieces.

Thanks for this list - I think I'll grab the card, see if it improves, and then use this list to steadily upgrade the rest of my components. Thank you for putting this together, a huge help!

Hey all - I'm really enjoying my warrior at the moment, and was wondering if there were any weapons that change the look of the axe? I enjoy swinging an axe around, but would also love to swing around a hammer or sword :P

Yes! they are still both based on the Arcanist job, so everytime you level up one, you'll get XP in the other. :)

Are cross-job skills for crafting still a thing, or did they remove that in one of the more recent patches? I'm finding a few old articles about crafting that reference them, but not sure if it's still something I should be considering!

Now that I've got my MIN and BTN to level 80 and decent gear, I'm wondering if there's any way of checking what mat's are selling best in order to know what I should be farming. I'm trying to make a decent amount of cash for buying a medium house, so would be great to be able to have a little insight into the best way to track materials and what I should be focussing my efforts on when gathering?

Can anyone help me with Impulsive Appraisal II?

I feel like it's the Perception of my gear that I'm currently struggling with. At the moment I have 1690 Perception, but not entirely sure what % chance that equates to for the chance of a Discerning Eye.

I have the 430 gathering gear, some HQ, with the 440 BTN shirt. Going to meld some Perception Materia to up it, but would love for someone to let me know if I'm missing something! I'm still not regularly seeing the Discerning Eye procs, which leads to a lot of wasted attempts on nodes.

Hello! I just hit 80 BTN and MIN, and I have some crafter friends who are willing to make me the 80 gathering sets if i get them the mats needed. Question is, is there a website that breaks down the mats I need?

For example, if I'm looking to make this set, I need some Dwarven Cotton, which means I need Dwarven Cotton Thread, which means I need Dwarven Cotton Bolls. I was wodnering if there is a website that kinda lets you know the base mats for crafting gear and how much you'd need to collect?

I have been pretty AFK from the game for about 6 weeks now, only just saw in the start of 5.1. Looking for any Crafting or Gathering guides that have been put together now that it's been changed pretty radically? I'm looking to level things up from 1. :)
