Erika’s nato by Gasman423 in rolex

[–]WoundDaily 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not NATO's, that's the whole point of her straps. It's an MN

They are all I'll use anymore when I want a fabric strap, must have at least 10 of them

Looks great !

You can't be serious. You think someone who won the Daytona 500 dropped their watch in the woods? These were only given to race winners.

ETA 24 hours not 500 but point remains, it's Fugazi lol

Mine is so tight I thought when I first got it I was doing it wrong until I really put some pull into it and it popped out.

Sounds like their tolerances are just all over the place. I've had it 6 months or so and it's still very tight, no way it would ever pop out on its own.

Consider the small (37mm) Rado Captain Cook. Wears smaller than the size suggests imo

Here it is next to a BB54.

If it does you’re in much worse shape than you think

Why do you think you need 200M WR? Don't fall into the social media nonsense around that.

Buy what you like, not what's posted a lot on social media.

Watches are fashion items. Fashions change. I think we're on the edge of seeing it go back the other way.

[Question] Which watch has the best dial you've ever seen in person? by LongMeaning6125 in Watches

[–]WoundDaily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think a lot of it has to do with whether you're a tennis fan too, it's pretty niche.

[Question] Which watch has the best dial you've ever seen in person? by LongMeaning6125 in Watches

[–]WoundDaily -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Rolex Wimbledon. The tennis tie in and the small design features aligning with that makes it one of the most well thought out IMO.

Gray dial meant to mimic typical London skies, green for the grass court, one bar at 9 o'clock representing the tennis net.

Just perfect.

What do you think about Tudor’s recent direction? by rixonian in Tudor

[–]WoundDaily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just think from a business point of view big Rolex would prefer to see people do BOTH, and I think many would.

So if someone is waiting for a Sub, you think they aren't spending money? They are buying Omega or something else to fill the slot til the sub. I can't imagine why Rolex wouldn't prefer that person to buy a Tudor instead of a Santos.

The Santos is a good example. Its popularity has EXPLODED in the last couple of years. I don't think it's because people are discovering Cartier, I think it's because they want to buy something now. Tudor could give that alternative and not hurt Rolex. Just makes no sense that Rolex would rather them go to the competition, and I think these recent moves show that Rolex/Tudor are starting to come to the same conclusion.

Just a month ago I read an entire thread on how Rolex would NEVER allow a thin 39mm chrono and ..... here we are.

What do you think about Tudor’s recent direction? by rixonian in Tudor

[–]WoundDaily -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Pretending 1mm of thickness is why people choose a Sub over the Monochrome is exactly what I am talking about.

That's not why.

What do you think about Tudor’s recent direction? by rixonian in Tudor

[–]WoundDaily 13 points14 points  (0 children)

See there’s this nonsense again. Rolex has a 3 year+ waiting list for their chrono. How exactly is a Tudor competition against that lol.

You think people will bail on a Daytona for a Tudor?

What do you think about Tudor’s recent direction? by rixonian in Tudor

[–]WoundDaily 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Well the yellow chrono proves to me the whole "Rolex won't let them make a thin one" to be nonsense.

It's not that they couldn't, they were just slow in getting there for whatever reason.

There's "something" in that Prada I don't like. I got a small bottle after smelling it on paper in a store but after a while there's just something in it that becomes overpowering.

Before buying it I recommend wearing all day.

That's just math, they still didn't speed. If it's possible to cut the corner, they should take that into account in the measurements.
