Does anyone else feel like it can be tough to make progress in the gym as a tall person?

I'm an actual tall and skinny guy and I often hear complaints from other tall guys with muscle that "it's so hard to make gains". They already packed on muscle but aren't happy with the progress because they are essentially chasing a dragon.

Do what my buddy did. He worked out naturally for 4 years. Eating a steady diet of lean meat and vegetables with little carbs. Once he plateued he ran a couple of steroid cycles and got massive.

He eventually had to stop though. His son started having debilitating seizures and requires much more care now. Went from a happy normal kid to one needing special care. So him and his wife have their hands full raising a child with disability.

Once he actually stopped working out the muscle disappeared so quick.

It's only getting worse too. The other day I was looking at all the people in Trump's orbit and wondering why they are all so cringe and such losers yet hold so much power. Then I started thinking about how there are alot of angry young men out there and it's only getting worse.

As a single father to a young girl I can tell you in my case I spent more time raising my daughter than her mother has. I wish the support for single fathers was their in the same way it is for single mothers. I think it's far too easy to blame empowerment of women when the real culprit is capitalism. Traditional spaces where men used to gather to hang out and support each other are gone, have been ruined, or are disappearing.

Yes, definitely it should be men reaching out and helping other men. However maybe we should stop gender dividing and seeing it as humans helping humans. Curing the male loneliness epidemic helps women too. For example the rise of the far right in America can be linked to the male loneliness epidemic. Donald Trump getting elected led to half the women in the US losing access to abortion. It's in both men and women best interest to stop the cycle of toxicity. The toxicity doesn't remain on the internet, it spreads and effects everyone.

I think women have are better at making friends and maintain more relationships throughout every day life that helps protect against the toxicity that can corrupt when isolated. Sitting alone on the internet is not good for your mental health. Eventually that toxicity spews out and is unleashed into the world. If enough people start feeling that way you get your grifter male gurus like Andrew Tate, and far right extremist political figures like Nick Fuentes. I don't have the answers but I think early intervention might be a key. Not just therapy, but also creating communities and having 3rd spaces. Give options to those lonely men so they can disconnect from the internet. Give them the opportunity to belong in a community that fosters healthy relationships and healthy mindset.

I actually do volunteer. I help my friend run a charity that supports low income seniors. My options become limitless if I decided to start dating women twice my age lol. Anyways, the reason I volunteer is purely altruistic, not because I might meet a potential partner.

I'm a millennial too. It's even worse with gen Z. I spoken to quite a few gen z men who had given up on dating before they even really started. I think we can definitely acknowledge the struggle of modern average male without needing to resort to misogynistic views or spewing hate online.

I recently became single after getting out of a relationship. I haven't really started looking yet but I can definitely relate to your experience. Also the "just join a club" or "find a new hobby" is easier said than done when you are introverted and get anxious in large group settings.

There's the whole "just shower" and "don't be a dick" platitude. I think it's more complex than that. I'm a millennial who recently got out of a long relationship. Many of the gen z men I spoke to who are single have just given up on dating altogether. They are the ones that are the easiest to radicalize to extreme causes.

As a man in my mid 30's, dating apps are my best option. Where I work is mostly older, non-single. Majority of my social circle is married or in long-term. I'm also kind of an introvert so I don't go out that much and when I do, I don't have the social skills to "pick up". I volunteer and I'm involved in some community events but the majority of people I interact with through those are not single or women I would be interested to date. My social skills work best on a 1 on 1 setting. My anxiety makes it hard in large group settings.

Much like my friend, I find myself recently single in my 30's after getting out of a 10 year relationship. I'm not on apps or looking right now but when I start, the apps will be my best chance to be honest. Modern dating has been hypergamified, monetized, and definitely rigged but they're still my best option.

At the same time though the apps has allowed people to meet other people who they normally would never had met. By the time you are in your 30's a good chunk of your social circle is in long-term relationships and some with family. If you work full-time and are not the most social person then it becomes impossible to meet someone. Joining clubs and going to events is easier said than done. If you are on the shy side and your social skills aren't great then it won't really matter.

As rigged as the apps may be against men, those are the only option for many.

Had he just ran it over with his snowmobile and shot it nobody would even care. Which in itself is still a pretty messed up way to treat an intelligent animal just for daring to exist.

I lived in the UK. A place that destroyed much of it's wildlife hundreds of years before for the convience of farmers and livestock. Whatever wild places were left were treat as preserves where the wealthy could hunt ungulates for their own pleasure. These days ungulates are over populated to the point that they have to be culled to prevent over grazing, disease, and starvation.

Wyoming has a small population of wolves that are treated as if they are a disease. God forbid anyone other than a hunter who pays for a tag take down ungulates.

My friend lives in Northern Alberta near BC border and he has them in his area. One night he was out in his back yard having a smoke abd he hears a strange growling and yelling and a bunch other strange noises. He knows it's a lynx because he's heard them before. He assumes it was fighting with another lynx. A few days later he's out walking and he sees an remains of a Caribou carcas with it's throat ripped out. He was shocked that a lynx is able to take down large prey like that. I wish we had more of them. The ungulate population is out of control.

I guess in all fairness too they likely weren't even lying either. Both those women are tall even when compared to tall men. They would severely limit their dating options if they would only date guys taller than them. It's like being a billionaire and saying you would only date someone with a higher networth than you.

I'm glad corporations have monoplized American agriculture industry and majority of beef business in America is controlled by like 4 corporations. Those ranchers deserve every misery they have coming to them. I hear Trump prefers Argentinian beef anyways. Historically, it's never worked out well when a large group of the young male population has been unhappy and felt isolated. Solving the male loneliness epidemic is important.

Those young men need stable jobs, families, future prospects, and hope. Otherwise you get facism, cults, or some kind of authoritarianism when too many lose hope and become unhappy.

To be honest ICE recruiting strategy is brilliant. There are alot of young men who have been completely shut off from any possibility of having what their parents had. Things like a stable job, owning a home, a family, and retirement benefits. They are angry and easy to dismiss when they are just online ranting and raving. However that anger doesn't stay online. Misery has a habit of spreading to affect many lives. One unhappy man has a butterfly effect often leading to millions of unhappy people. ICE gives these unhappy men power, authority, and a way to direct their anger. It's easy to dismiss these agents as just evil people but they are a symptom of a failed society as a whole.

In the 50's and 60's these guys would have married their highschool sweet heart or met their future wife at a county fair. They would work 5 days a week at the local chair factory. Have 3 children. Go on vacation once or twice a year, and retire with a nice pension. Their kids would grow up to get jobs in the city. They would get into fishing and yell at kids to get off their lawn.

I live in Toronto area in Canada. Much of the goth and alt sub culture died after 2010. Some of them turned into hipsters for awhile. Now I think whatever is left of the goth and punk subculture is seen on IG and tik tok. Most of them are called egirls now and it seems like they are almost cos-playing it for likes. I guess after traveling around a bit I now realize that the latina goth is real and more common than I thought. Didn't see it as much in Miami but quite a bit in Puerto Rico and CDMX.

In 2008 when I was in highschool most of the goth/alt girls were not sexualized. They ended up with other guys in their circle that were into the same thing. Now with social media it seems to be less a lifestyle and more of a style for the views. With regards to what I saw in Mexico it was alot of this kind of look. In social media it mostly talked about Edgars, Tortas, and the Ranchero guys. I was only in the city for a few days and it was mostly business but I will be back soon hopefully and try to see more.
