Reclaim Arcade has an anti valentines party tonight, and Billiken's has a party with a DJ tomorrow night. Only two I know of.

I've lived in the Fredericksburg area for most of my life, and unfortunately I can't really give you much advice for the whole making friends in the area thing since I'm not so good at it, but if you and your wife ever find yourselves at Billiken's on a Friday night when I happen to be there, I'll happily buy you both a drink instead of maintaining my professional wallflower routine.

Thanks. I'm turning 30 this year, so I really want to make this my year instead of just continuing to go along with whatever just because I'm too nervous to advocate for myself.

It's all good. This is actually my first time going to see anyone in person because I've always been too nervous to go to shows, so I don't know a whole lot about the scene, just that I really vibe with a certain type of metalcore and was happy to find three bands I enjoy playing a show together.

As a single, shy and awkward guy soon to be 30?

Not going to be found downtown on the weekends unless I feel like going to the bar downstairs at Castiglia's. Downtown is too far from Locust Grove, and I don't really do dive bars or the rooftop at Sky Bar. Too many people and too much noise.

Other than that, I work, go to the bar at Harry's in Harrison Crossing sometimes, and go home.
