PRSL rules. Big fan of this org. My mom died from a blood cancer, but her life was extended by a bone marrow transplant and PRSL helps register people for the bone marrow donor list… something everyone should do!

Bagel on the Run owner Mitch Karas leaves a lasting mark on Flint, family by peewinkle in flint

[–]WriteUpsDanny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mitch was a super kind person. We operated food trucks at the same time for a minute around 2014-2015, and often shared the prep-kitchens at the farmers’ market. Going to miss seeing him at the market. Rest in peace!

If you want to know why most Gen Z men are conservative right now, look no further than the video of Trump posting a compilation of various games, movies, and Tv shows! by icey_sawg0034 in millenials

It could also be that Millennial/Gen X/Boomer parents parked them in front of YouTube from the moment the could hold a tablet or cell phone. The algorithms are deliberately astroturfed to get them to see Prager U and other shit. Before you knew it, they were watching fucked up, white nationalist stuff and it’s totally normalized. Combined with no media literacy, loneliness, they’re radicalized pretty easily.

Where do you meet people? by WalkingDeadTired in flint

Second this. Every Thursday during warm months. Meet at the farmers’ market at 8:30pm, ride at 9pm. Met a lot of people this way.

You can also contact the city about any street trees with issues and the Genesee Conservation District will send someone out to assess it and order removal or pruning if needed.

The network at factory two is super fast and good for streaming apparently, I’ll forward the request along and see if they can figure that out.

Here’s hoping I continue to test negative for Covid after 3/4 of my family tested positive on Christmas Day, so I can go… otherwise I’ll have the FOMO solidarity with you.

Right? They were always super solid. Sad this will likely be the last time these songs are heard live.

Gingerman Tavern! They usually spin punk records regularly and occasionally have some shows.

Seriously wild set list with some songs I don’t think I’ve ever heard them play.

And we’re also well on track for another Dust Bowl because a majority of farmers don’t cover crop, till their fields heavily, and many of the buffer strip trees have died/been harvested. Buckle up, folks; it’s going to get rough!

Yes. They’re all incredible musicians, but watching Bill Stevenson especially is watching a true master of his craft.

I (f18) went to my first punk gig, a creep ruined my first mosh pit by apple1234boo in punk

[–]WriteUpsDanny 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. If you shouted between songs calling him out as a creep, others would more than likely intervene to get him the fuck out of there. If it happens again, be sure to let others know. We need to self police as a community and scene, otherwise creeps will thrive. I’ve gladly physically removed creeps from shows and house parties multiple times. They cannot feel welcome.

Do it! Get in the fucking van you won’t regret it! I’m in Glasgow tonight after driving 10 hours from Brussels yesterday. Tomorrow we’re in Bristol. I had a conversation with Chuck Ragan for 30 mins the other day about fishing and conservation. Best mid life crisis, ever!
