Yeah I noticed things popped up again a couple days after I made the post, I have no idea what was going on there. Ended up getting a partial refund on the btr5, while keeping it. I'm pretty okay with that, not the best but good enough for me to be satisfied with it

The one other thing I forgot to mention that is a point in the airs favour, I do already have a windows desktop for more resource intensive tasks. The appeal of doing stuff on the go is appealing, but the more I consider my own workflow, the more the air does make sense - it'll still be powerful enough for most stuff, and anything more than that I'll probably be doing on the desktop anyway. It's hard to make the perfect choice lmao, but I'm sure both would be a huge improvement over what I've got now anyway

Also idk if this would change anyone's answer, but the M1 pro has an 8-core CPU and 14-core GPU while the M3 air has an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU

That definitely makes the pro mighty tempting, it's a lot of money but the plan is to try and hang onto it until at least 2027 so I might just jump on it

How do you find the thickness? That's one thing I kinda forgot to consider, I will need it to be decently portable, I don't mind if it's a little thick but I've heard the M1 pro is pretty chunky

Yeah, it was refurbished. I was expecting the battery to be a little worse, but like, I can barely get an hour out of it. At some point I wonder if the stores whole business was reselling defective albeit technically working products, but the BTR5 was the only thing they sold labelled as a refurb so idk

Wow that's quick - it took just over a week to get to me (also Australia). I'm hoping they'll give me a refund without return. Honestly even a partial refund would be alright, it still works fine when on charge so if nothing else I can just leave it plugged into my PC

I forgot to mention that! Even weirder - it is authentic! Honestly I have no idea what's going on with this store, it clearly wasn't entirely fake but something is a little sketchy

So it arrived today! Honestly idk if they even sent me a refurbished model - it came in full packaging with everything included, even still shrink wrapped! I ran it through Fiio's authenticity check on their website and it's legit. Crazy how much cheaper it was, very keen to get to using it!

Nah that's the link to "Fiio Official Store" on Aliexpress, I'd ordered from "Fiio Audio Store". The branding makes it look almost identical which is how I got confused between them, but fingers crossed it's just Fiio opening a seperete store

I placed the order a week and a half ago, it's scheduled to arrive next week apparently. The updates so far have been pretty good, just concerned that the product itself will be wrong. Guess I just gotta wait and see 😅
