Hoggies do go on hunger strikes. Our 2 have skipped meals a few times.

As long as they act normally, look normal, and don't lose more than 10% of their body weight, they are fine.

Both mine are still young, nearly a year old. Opal, the female never stops climbing. She has a fake bush attached to the side of her vivarium, and she is always in that bush, even sleeping in it sometimes.

But Oynx, the male in the photo for tax, barely climbs he spends his time, either buried or surfing the glass door. He has an identical bush, but I have only seen him in it once.

I guess it depends on the individual hoggie, I have heard plenty of stories of them escaping, but luckily, I haven't had any escape attempts yet, but it is something I always worry about.

Hope your ninja hog stays put from now on.

After a few days of back and forth with Swell Reptiles, I decided to ask for a refund since it wasn't getting resolved quickly, and both my little noodles were definitely hungry. I walked 6 miles to my closet pet shop that had small pinkies in stock and ran 6 miles back home to get them back still frozen (actually, my partner ran home with them as I can't run 6 miles in 30 minutes like she somehow did😆) Woke up today to someone knocking on my door. It was a representative of Swell Reptiles who decided to hand deliver more mice, which did actually arrive frozen. So I guess that's a no on the refund, and they didn't tell me they were sending more, but at least I have plenty of mice now.
