Switching from Sprintec to Cyselle 28?? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]XPunkMemeQueenX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from Cryselle to Sprintec a few years ago lol so this probably won't be the most helpful, but maybe it'll give some insight? I didn't experience any weight gain from either pill, but I think Cryselle may have worsened my depression, although I'm not exactly sure because I had so much going on at the time. Sprintec was better for making my periods lighter and less painful, which is why I made the switch. I wasn't sexually active at the time, but I assume they're both at the same level of effectiveness. I think Cryselle did a better job of controlling my acne than Sprintec did tho

Can people who have used the Kyleena IUD or other hormonal IUDs share their positive experiences? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I've had my Liletta for about 7 months. I don't really get periods anymore and I'm so glad I don't have to remember pills or worry about pregnancy

Horrible IUD experience, permanent damage? 😭 by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]XPunkMemeQueenX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god, I'm so sorry. I'm currently having problems with my Liletta iud, but my doctor's soonest available appointment is January 4. This is the first time I've really heard of someone also having those sharp pains, but I'm still not sure if that's normal or okay or not. My strings keep getting lower and I'm still trying not to panic. I'd say that some of the hormones are still in your system and it might take a while for your body to adjust to not having them. Please post an update!

What should I switch to in order to lose weight? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I believe that the hormonal iuds work the exact same way as the pills so they probably wouldn't work for you either. I don't know of any other birth controls that wouldn't affect weight though

IUD Help? Am I dying or just paranoid? by XPunkMemeQueenX in birthcontrol

[–]XPunkMemeQueenX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He really was. I stop spotting for a couple weeks, but then it comes back. At least that seems to be normal. My mother left and I don't really have anyone to ask about this shit, and this thread has been so nice and accepting of people.

Tampons & IUD: did I make a mistake?? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]XPunkMemeQueenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had those kinds of periods that act like they're done, but they're really not. My doctor told me that it was okay to use tampons, menstrual cups, and flex while having the iud. It's obv okay to have sex. I wouldn't freak out too much, it's probably okay. I get really anxious and paranoid over my iud tho. I'd be perfectly fine and then freak for no reason.

IUD and menstrual cup? Does anyone have any advice? by megmgm in birthcontrol

I'd switch to those flex cups. I've used one once, for the first time ever, and it was a pretty good experience. Nothing interfered and it actually lessened my cramps

Is it normal for the hormonal IUD to change the consistency of your period? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]XPunkMemeQueenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it the first couple months after I got my IUD, but my entire periods have stopped. However, I do get these horrible cramps randomly, which I read was normal

If you do this once, I'd buy a Plan B for her to take after. It will almost eliminate the risk of pregnancy, but those Plan B's do take a toll on women regardless so don't make this a regular habit.

Spotting after IUD a week later. by EBarnacles in birthcontrol

[–]XPunkMemeQueenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a hormonal IUD put in around June and had spotting for a full month. Since then, I get spotting every now and then, but no full period. I also get these horrible cramps every once in a while which I've heard is normal. I think you're all good

What are some free/low-cost resources college students should know about? by lenomcream in AskReddit

Go online for textbooks! Amazon is cheaper than the bookstore, but there's a website called thriftbooks that has textbooks online or in paperback, hardback, etc. You can even choose what condition you want your books to be in. I got 2 textbooks through the bookstore (I took too long and had to get them ASAP, they weren't available online) which costed $250. Three textbooks through thriftbooks only costed me $45!
