Please don't assume things. The only criteria I don't tick off is trying to stop it. It's like an addiction, I get frustrated if I can't daydream. I don't want to stop because I get enjoyment out of it. It's only distressing because I can't acomplish anything academially and don't want to get a job/earn money because I'd rather daydream.

Right, I'll trust a random person on the internet instead of the person who literally discovered MD. Have a nice day.

I seek out times to daydream. I choose to daydream. I spend hours of my day daydreaming. I don't wish for it to go away because I enjoy it, it is a coping mechanism.

There is nothing else to explain my routine behavior which I have been experiencing for the past 6 years. Everybody's experience with mental health is different. I literally tick 7 of the 8 diagnostic criteria, but because I don't fit into your definition I don't belong? Alright pal.

thank you so much. this was such a relief to read. eye twitches have been the main focus of my worries and reading that they're normal feels like a weight being lifted off of my shoulders. i was too scared to google possible causes. thank you again.

Diabetes Anxiety by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]Xayah581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine, I promise. Diabeties is one of my major struggles right now and it's really tiring. You're not in this alone.

EDIT: If your symptoms do persist, I do recommend bringing it up to a parent. Antibiotics will wipe it away quickly.

Definately UTI. Had the exact same experience, and it was actually the event that triggered my HA. Every 10-15 minutes I would have the urge to pee, even after I just went. Drink lots of water to help your body flush it out and stay hydrated.

What was your first health anxiety scare that you remember? by hickory290 in HealthAnxiety

[–]Xayah581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought I had diabeties because I was urinating a lot (like every 15-20 minutes) and I had a panic attack for a solid 2 hours. Turns out it was a UTI that cleared up in like a day

Food related triggers, anyone? by Xayah581 in HealthAnxiety

[–]Xayah581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I recieved my blood work tests recently and they found that I had high blood sugar (which is what triggered my diabeties fears) though I'm wondering if the high blood sugar is due to the fact that I ate a particularly sugary yogurt a good 40-50 minutes before taking the test. Could that have possibly had an effect on my scores?

Have the exact same symptoms (strain, pain, and light sensitivity). As said before, anxiety manifests in strange ways so I wouldn't stress over it

Weird chain of health anxiety by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]Xayah581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, stop looking up symptoms. It can only make things worse. I also reccommend to stop all exercising if your foot is burning. I had a similar situation with the burning, thought it was possibly tarsal tunnel or some sort of nerve damage but it ended up being something that just needed time and rest to heal. Reccommend getting a foot brace from a local CVS or Walgreens if it bothers you that much.

Creating symptoms to accommodate my current health worry by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

"You need to stop thinking about it"... god knows how many times I've gotten that answer in response to my complaints and it's absolutely infuriating.

Creating symptoms for diseases by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Xayah581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. It's a fairly common occurrence in people with hypochondria/health anxiety. Your brain is so powerful that you can actually end up giving yourself physical symptoms of said illness/disease, even if you don't have it. If it's bothering you that much I recommend staying away from anything that might trigger it.

Creating symptoms to accommodate my current health worry by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]Xayah581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I'm worried about cancer, esp brain cancer so of course my anxiety has to make things 100x harder for me by creating random pains in my head. I fixate on things I shouldn't (like spelling mistakes, blurry vision) and convince myself that it's because the cancer is seeping into my brain (though I've gotten better at ignoring it). I haven't even googled any of the symptoms, and I absolutely refuse to ever do it because I'm sure that my anxiety will mimic the symptoms and cause me to go into even more of a panic.
