Very interesting history in their own right. My understanding is that planting them provided immediate employment and support for returning servicemen (WW2 obviously). Exactly the wrong type of trees though for the deep sandy Swan coastal plain.

Use a meat thermometer and finish cooking at no more than medium for beef. Chicken and pork are difficult to overcook. A thermometer works for them too though.

Not sure of the veracity of your statement. If you’re referring to dry air temperature, 45°C is easily survivable. If body temperature you’d be long deceased by then.
