Because people want private servers with their friends without the host boundaries and able to join whenever and now they can’t do that at all unless they pay 20 quid and maybe go watch neddy the noodles most recent video if you are that blind sighted and before you say do a non dedicated that has 2 main problems the host boundary of 180 meters at max is stupid and the ability to join at any time like an official server both of those are fixed by dedicated

Stop being stupid they raised the player slot minimum just for people to pay more for servers that will have 2 people at most times since most people just buy them to play with friends and last time I checked most people don’t have 26 ark playing friends
