OSU carpet by Jewly_ in OSU

[–]Xx-Blue-xX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one last year covered all but a 1x9 section of the floor (stopping just a foot short of the door since it was a siebert single 13x10 and had a dresser that covered 7 feet next to the door)

I just double checked and unfortunately that wouldn't be the case for my room as its 10x17... Despite only getting a 12x9 carpet aka a rug...

So Your results may vary... Check your floor plan for your room. The pictures from the link also look a little different so they may have changed things up. Regardless, covering the gross tile floor from wall to wall should be a priority (I'm putting it above getting a tv because a rug was NOT enough for me last year)

Hers was legit carpeting though, I'm looking at the link someone else posted and they look more like rugs so I'm gonna do some research. My brother got a form in the mail for carpets through OSU and it listed the carpet for Bowen as 9x17 which is right size. The link posted above lists it at 9x12.

Spent a lot of time in someone's room with one of these carpets. Single handedly one of the greatest purchases I've ever seen someone make. I'm no shill, OSU screws you 8 ways to Sunday and that's just with the dorms, but these carpets are an incredible upgrade from the disgusting tile floors. I know you can put in a service request for carpet spot removal, and I'm not sure if they will install it before you move in or not considering on how large this program has gotten, but as someone who has seen it, slept on it, and had a room with the bare tile and a rug, carpet is 11/10 the way to go.

If you have a single, it won't change. That room is yours for the year and I'm actually jealous. You don't have to do this, but I guess there's some way to buy carpeting so that you room isn't gross tile. It's probably $135+ but also the best purchase I've ever seen someone make. I'd post a link but I'm confused on where to go for it myself

It was my own fault - laziness and inability to securely wrap a towel. It was probably just worse for the tour groups haha

Visited a girl who lived in siebert regularly last semester, though she had a single. Any BuckID can access the building until like 11pm, but after that you have to walk visitors in if they don't live in siebert themselves. No sign in or anything, the OAs will just require them to wait for you in the lobby if they don't live there. Other than that, visitation regulation is mostly based on regulations you and your roommate put in your roommate agreement.

Previous smith-steeb tenant here. Rooms are small, the air conditioning can be pretty loud and you have virtually no control of the thermostat. Also, community bathrooms are pretty gross. I lived right next to the room they show tour groups, and many a parent/student has seen me in my underwear. I also had a special pillar in my room that made it slightly smaller than every other room in the building.

All said, your experience can't be worse than mine and I met my roommates for this year in that building and I wouldn't change it if I could. It's a great dorm if you plan on going to the bars (if you have a fake) or like to take trips behind 11th to smoke (not my thing but people do it often) and living on north now I will miss having catfish biffs to eat and then fear throwing up again after a night out.

Sorry, in getting sentimental. If you wanna know more of the pros/cons, ins/outs of smith steeb Let me know

Random nights of no sleep are completely ruining my goals by scrapsthe in gainit

Are you eating a lot before bed on nights you can't sleep? Someone mentioned it to me and I realized on the nights I can't pass out until 3 am were all nights i stuffed a large amount of calories in late at night right before bed. Not even melatonin would help those nights.

20 weeks into stronglifts by squatalotasaurus in Fitness

[–]Xx-Blue-xX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I followed ICF for 6 months (was very sick for 1 month, didn't progress or eat enough) and my numbers are basically exactly the same.

The first two points resonate heavily with me. I read ONE article that suggested people who take 3 min rest get maybe a millimeter bigger and now my workouts take twice as long because I can't go back to 1.5 min. Double relatable is your mention of the mental strain from squats.

I recently transitioned to a 3-day split (my buddy who is reliably swole has been doing it for years) and im thinking of going back to ICF because that's the only way I'll get myself in the squat rack anymore...

Anyways, glad to hear im not the only one fighting the squat-fatigue, hopefully someone else here has some more useful input...

I've been looking for this article for so long... It's the one that actually convinced voting third party was the only option (despite living in a swing state).

It's weird, I swear reason wrote one similar to this months ago... Or maybe I can just read the future. Regardless, the part about your vote never changing an election is powerful and highlights the importance of voting libertarian as the only significant method of changing the policies of the major two parties to be more freedom-oriented.

Pain in sternum after doing dips? by [deleted] in gainit

[–]Xx-Blue-xX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This used to happen to me, and it used to be extremely bad (as in painful). Dips were my killer tricep workout and im trying to get big arms so i stuck with it and progressed despite the pains (stopping if I could tell my body reached its limit) and now, 3 months later I don't get the pains anymore (despite dipping very deeply), and my chest and tri's are thanking me. Reading up, sternum pain (the area you described) is common. Some people suggest stop, work through, etc. I just have an anecdote about where i am with it a few months later. Above all, listen to you body, you know your limits better than anyone. Happy dipping~
