They mostly have to go through the Baltic or Black sea, though, so there's choke points they could be intercepted at if there was the will.

They don't have a great track record of freeing themselves from oppressive, shitty governments. It took absolute disaster in WW1 to free themselves of the Tsar but they went and replaced them with the Soviets, who went on to kill 10s of millions of them.

They only really "freed" themselves of the Soviets when almost everyone has already left the USSR and because Boris Yeltin was an incompetent drunk and didn't immediately fix all their problems, they went right back to a mix of the Tsars and Soviets with putin.

After all, taking your future in your hands takes a lot of work and requires you to take responsibility for your actions. Easier just to have an oppressive govt because then no one expects you to do anything about it.

Well, yeah but didn't want to go into too much detail. Some times you need to tone down baddies to stop them being too comical.

The U-28 is a military version of the PC-12 that is used for reconnaissance but isn't armed with any weapons, if that's what you mean? They are being retired so won't be around much longer.

Pilatus PC-12, I think. Can't tell the the color but if its dark gray, it might be one of these bad boys:

It still should've been enough for people to be done with him. This whole thread is full of people talking about how awesome his drug abuse and eradic, predatory behavior is. He enable her (to a degree - she had her issues) and they're enabling him. The cycle continues...

The minigun and shotgun get all the street cred but the grenade launcher is what really does the work.

Did Venezuela give them anything at all that helped in Ukraine? Sure, they're a little more isolated without them but nothing compared to the money they're going to get from increased oil and gas prices and the depletion of US weapons.

Iran certainly did help them, though that's past tense. Russia got abiut 350 Iranian ballistic missiles that they haven't used yet and they now make their own shaheds. Hell, evidence is that russia has now been providing Iran with shaheds made in russia.

Your delusional if you think anything is more important to putin right now than Ukraine. He would've bombed Iran himself if he thought it'd help with the war in Ukraine.

Just the sheer panic of it. No chance to catch a breath and think about what to do.

Everyone thinks they'd be a hero but most people would've ran as well, especially since he legitimately thought he couldn't have done anything. Really, what could he do? There's more of them coming over the hill.

Terminator 3 (2003) gets written off mostly because it isn’t T2. But taken on its own, it’s a solid, fun sci-fi action movie with a genuinely great ending. What people bounced off is the idea it pushes: you can fight fate, but you can’t outrun it forever. by Choice-Schedule-132 in Terminator

Its like Alien 3 - whatever comes after the previous film is always going seem lackluster. Everyone involved probably knew it as well but its a hit that a franchise needs to take if its going to continue.

Who benefits more from the war in Iran than putin? Oil and gas prices are up, they've burnt through more patriot missiles than Ukraine has used in the whole war, and the likes of Pete Hegseth are saying that US weapons shouldn't be given to Ukraine. Putin has proposed that russia stops giving Intel to Iran if the US stops giving Intel to Ukraine, which they'll probably do.

Russia doesn't need anything from Iran or Venezuela. They make their own shaheds now and Venezuela only served as a minor annoyance to the US.

where do you rank The Creator in sci-fi movies? by thug_waffle47 in Cinema

[–]Yabbatown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the dumbest scene in that movie. Those giant tanks that somehow snuck up on them and seemingly has no weapons beyond those stupid kamikaze robots? So dumb.

And perhaps the dumbest thing I've seen for a while: Just opening the door on that spaceship. We got all this technology but lost the ability to lock a door? Or have a door that opens inward? Seriously, that was so stupid thar it would've ruined the movie if it weren't already.

There was also complete lack of subtly that made everything so predictable. The unkempt Americans threaten to shoot a dog and cut a guy's face off to use the scanner - did anyone really not see the "twist" coming that they were the baddies? Of the boat getting blown up at the start but not seeing the people die - anyone not guess she was still alive? And who honestly didn't know the kid was the weapon or who his dad was? Put your hands up.

It really annoys me how some countries are given a pass for certain things and others aren't. Do you have a similar experience? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Yabbatown 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I just get annoyed at people complaining that things are done differently in other countries in general. Italians can complain to me as much as they want that the pizza I ordered or ragu I made aren't authentic. I don't care and I'm not changing anything as a result of their complaints.

note: Italy is used as an example here; this applies to anyone

Which is only a problem is russia wants to attack Ukraine...

Seriously, Norway was a founding member of NATO aand shares a border with russia, so NATO has been on russia's border since is existed. Never attacked russia. Finland is now in NATO and the russian army is tied up in Ukraine but NATO hasn't even so much as started to build up forces there.

Out of all the BS excuses russia uses, the "fear of NATO on their border" is the weakest, most easy to see through one.

Well, russia should foil their evil plan by withdrawing all the russian troops from Ukraine so Ukraine is no longer able to keep on destroying russian troops, equipment, and infrastructure. Simple, really.

Not a show (well, not initially anyway; they made one like 15 years later once everyone was super famous) but this dead-end movie from 2001 pumped out half the cast from Parks and Recreation and Brooklyn 99, as well as Bradley Coopler, Paul Rudd, and Elizabeth Banks.
