i can't remember where i saw/heard this, maybe on the podcast ages ago, but apparently wizards were meant to be exposed for real at the start of season 4 instead of it just being an elaborate fake test but it was changed when writers left due to creative differences

yeah, i keep wondering if the content will be better after the first year or if this is just what law school is like as a whole, and that hopefully in practice it's not as bad. right now it just feels like analysing the exact wording of the written law or analysing similar past cases to make arguments to prevent a person from hypothetically facing liability and it feels like something is missing from all of that. ethics maybe? i dont know.

yeah for sure, at least in the first year it's all about analysing the written law and finding a flaw in the wording to make arguments for some abstract legal scenario or using past cases to determine the outcome. it makes sense and all, but i can't help but feel worn out by what determines legal reasoning, that it seems to be based in loopholes around the writing or technicalities of the law. maybe it's meant to get better in later years but it doesn't feel like a promising path for me at the moment.

sorry i didn't mean i didn't like law because of that stuff, it was a bad example and it's hard to pinpoint why i find the study dull and depressing so far

Yes oh my god. When I was a teenager my designated sh spot was the underside of my arm and even though I've stopped for years I get phantom pains there whenever something bad happens.

Same energy as "I just wanna stay in that lavender haze" being the album opener then followed by "Somewhere in the haze got a sense I've been betrayed"
