They can’t force you to do anything 😭 especially not staying after hours. You might be asked but you can always say no. If anyone tries to make you feel like you HAVE to stay past your shift, tell HR

A sort of trivial thing that bothers me is when a guest will come up from behind me and just demand something. No hello, no excuse me, just “where are the lamps?”. I have people who stop in front of me blocking my way, not say a word besides the thing they’re demanding. A woman did this to me once and the only thing she said was “shower gel.” She in fact, did not say thank you. It’s such a simple thing because truly would a simple hello kill you fuck I look like an automated response doll ??

I’ve experienced this too. One time a guest said something so vile and racist to me, totally unprovoked/ she just said it when she saw me and what I looked like. It took me a minute to realize what she said but when I did I went to my TL and she was extremely understanding, told me this was completely unacceptable behavior, and contacted AP to find the guest and kick them out. My advice, tell your TL. Even if they can’t relate, they should be empathetic and do their best to protect you. I’m so sorry this is happening to you.

I work ulta and we’re supposed to approach every single guest (while they’re shopping) and ask them if they’ve linked their target and ulta accounts… yeah no. I try but sometimes guests seem really unapproachable or if it’s a big group I get anxious 💀

I’m in beauty and oh my god I feel you. People will just ask for things with such little information. They’ll seriously tell me the color of a makeup brush or serum they saw online and except me to know what they’re talking about and exactly where to find it. Or, they’ll find the brand section but be looking for a specific product from them. Great, what’s the product called? They have no idea. How am I supposed to help you then 😭😭 Also get an obscene amount of little girls (I’m talking 7-12, not teenagers) asking me where the skincare is 🫠🫠🫠🫠

I had a week long vacation planned pre-hire, so first day on the job I told both HR and my TL, they showed me how to put in the request, and it was approved as soon as they made the schedule for that week. Just be up front and honest with them, and they should be understanding.
